1. Scene-By-Scene Outline
Black screen with a quote from “The Godfather Part 2” – Michael
Corleone “If anything in this life is certain, if history has taught us
anything, it is that you can kill anyone”
We see a shot of the phone, the character is holding the phone, we
hear a dial tone, and he places the phone back down on the hook.
The camera pulls out to show the room and we see him pacing. He
then begins talking.
He then walks over to the wall and begins to place things on it,
this includes maps, pieces of texts, cut outs from articles and
eventually a photo. The camera tracks up along passing along each
piece of the information allowing the audience to see it.
He turns around and reaches down by the bed, where he picks up
a poster and places. There is a pause in the dialogue as he places
this on the wall.
He then walks backwards and sits on the bed facing the board and
poster behind it. Pause carries on for a few more seconds.
--Straight after the couple seconds pause second of silence we see
the first few seconds of the Kennedy assassination.
He then carries on talking with his head in his hands on his
forehead as to not block his speech.
Now his hands move away from his face and come together,
stopping his own hands from trembling. This shot then moves up
from his hands following his body up towards his face, which is
vacant.
He then reaches over to the desk where his hand fumbles whilst
he grabs a bottle of pills, he unscrews the can and quickly
swallows a few. He puts the can back and knocks it over spilling
the contents on the side.
He pushes himself up away from the bed and towards the phone
onto the floor
--Another few seconds’ worth of the Kennedy assassination.
He kneels by the phone and talks to his daughter more closely –
Whispering; showing he is paranoid about being caught.
He rises and pokes his fingers between the blinds allowing the
streetlights through. At this point he mentions a quote from a
book and feels compelled to find it.
2. He turns *the camera following his footsteps from under the bed.
He keeps walking around the room looking for this book.
Throwing things around in search of the book. He eventually finds
it and grabs it. Almost jumping for joy that he has.
He then begins to read from it to his daughter, he rocks whilst he
does, almost reading it like his own gospel.
He drops the book to the floor* a good reaction shot of the book
hitting the floor.
An almost sudden change of characters, he falls backwards onto
the bed and begins questioning what he is doing. * The audience
sees a shot of his face from the side, we see his eyes flicker,
darting about as he talks.
He pushes himself up from the bed, almost bouncing up with
energy.
He paces around the room almost arguing with himself. * Camera
either follows him or moves with him; backwards and forewords
as he paces.
He stops in front of the phone, a small desk lamp shining in front
of him almost obscuring him to the camera.
The camera pans around to then face him, and a grin grows across
his face as the camera zooms in.
--It then cuts to the final shot of the Kennedy assassination as he is
killed.
