What do you
do on Sundays?
Maybe like us you
take it easy. But
some of you may well
be up and out early
to go running.
If so, you share
something in
common with the
Internal Audit at
Leeds City Council.

Through word of mouth, the communications team first came across our ledger legends' fundraising efforts several years ago.
They haven't stopped running, and much more besides, since.
The result? Over £10,000* has been raised for the likes of Cancer Research UK and
Yorkshire Cancer Centre.
*If you are reading this after Nov. 2014 that sum will have gone up. And up.

Bride-to-be Eleanor Franks, 30, from Leeds, aims to set a

And sweethearts Katrina Scaife, 32, and Andrew Ford, 33,
will stop 20 miles into the route to get MARRIED at a
Docklands hotel, where 120 guests will be waiting.

It's an incredible sum and one to
acknowledge.
The Internal
Audit team's
selfless work gives others hope in the battle against
cancer.
But it also marks the wonderful life of colleague Jane Eyre.
Jane is well known around Leeds City Council. If you didn't meet Jane it will shortly become clear why she was well known.

In June 2013, tragically Jane passed
away. She finally succumbed to the
cancer that accompanied her during
the latter years.
Understand this:
while Jane's death was tragic. The life is wonderful! And that wonder goes on. Jane is the
fuel that fires the pistons as the bodies
creak – and Internal Audit’s runners
pound the streets in all sorts of
weather.
To repeat, £10,000-plus. And rising.
