2. colours
When making the
school publication
I has to pay close
attention to the
background colour
as this can attract
different types of
audiences, the blue
was quite calming,
normally for
mature audiences ,
the red colour is
very striking and
would get the
attention of people
but I found it was a
little too much on
the eyes.
3. colours
Next I tried pink , I
found that this colour
would be more
appalling to younger
female audiences
which could cause a
problem for me as I
want to applies to
both boys and girls. I
then tried the brown
colour but it did not
look very applying to
me, the colour was
too strong.
4. I wanted to try a different texture then just
using the fading out colour, so I chose a paper
grainy texture, I thought this would look
perfect as its quite a neutral colour, it doesn't
stand out very much but I thought it would be
good to have the background colour not too
strong so I could work with the colours of the
text and outlines and make them stand out
5. I then tried to change the colour of the outlines to see if I
should make them stand out or go with the brownish
background
I tried to go with the
yellow outline, it did
make it look very nice
and it did make the
boxes stand out more
I tried to use different colours
to see what it would look like, I
thought the green colour was
too pungent and did not look
Appling
I picked the next colour as
pink but the brownish
background did not mix
well with the pink outlines.
I then decided to make
the outlines colour as
brown to match the
colour scheme.

I needed to choose the most suitable
font for the masthead, because I don’t
want the font to look to cartoonish or
too much like a real news paper cover.
I tried a Varity of different fonts.
I thought that this text font was
very hard to read also this type of
font is used for circus posters so it
would send the wrong impression
I though that this text was
quite appalling and was simple,
however it was too simplistic
and did not stand out enough
This text was hard to read and
was not very appealing due to
both the caps and under caps
letter being the same.
7. I had to choose between these two fonts, I
thought this font was the best because it was
nice and bold, it stood out and looked mature.
I very much liked this text font as its
simple and stands out however this is
the default font you would get when
typing, because of this I thought it
would look too generic.
8. At first glace the front cover looked bland, no
colours were really attraction me so I took the
opportunity to make the colour at the top to make
it eye catching. The first colour I used was yellow
but it stood out too much, the brownish colour
and yellow did not go well together.
I then tried a safer colour with grey, but it
looked too boring and did not stand out at all.
9. I thought this light aqua was perfect , it
stands out and it bends well with the
brownish back ground, the School name
stand stands out and its an eye catching
colour.
10. Algerian is the name of the text
I used for the smaller text, It
looks way to fancy and would be
hard to read because its small
print
Brush Script Std looks too fancy,
the text is too cramped and
would not suit a school
publication.
Comic Sans MS Would work
but it would not appeal to
older audiences so I had to
change it.
Corbel was prefect because
it was not too rounded or
to defined it. This is the font
style I choose.
