2. Costume
• For costume we wanted the target audience to relate to the
characters, which meant we wanted the costume to be simple
and not too difficult to re-create if needed. To do this we kept
the clothes fairly plane and basic. Jordon was in an orange
hoodie and jeans, clothes that could be worn by our target
age group and my own clothes were similar to Jordon’s, I wore
a plain purple shirt and jeans.
If we needed to re-film any scenes, the clothes were not hard
to locate again for use, if we had used too many items of
clothing they may have been hard to gather for the next
session of filming, they could be in the wash or lost.
3. • This is the costume from the first section of the video, this is during
the flashback scenes. This is where both characters feature together
most. The colours of the clothing are complimenting and work well
together. Unfortunately the images are of a low quality since they
were screen-capped from the footage.
4. • This is the costume for the
majority of the music
video, this is present tense and
so the outfit has been altered
slightly so that the audience
can see that this is a different
scene, but also we wanted to
keep it slightly similar so that
you can clearly tell it is the
same character. The same
colours and style of clothing
represent how the character
still feels the same for the
person he is in love with, but
he has also changed as the
story has. We introduced a
hat, headphones and a new
but similarly coloured hoodie.
5. Props
• The only props we really needed
was the use of an acoustic guitar.
This was to fit with the type of
song/genre which was an acoustic song and also to fit with the
narrative of the story we had.
The character in our music video was going to be playing the
guitar in many of his shots and we wanted the strumming of
the guitar to match the song. This was a common convention
seen in other acoustic music videos by other artists.
6. Similar artist references
• Similar artists who also create many acoustic based songs are
bands such as The Perishers, Ed Sheeran and Mumford and
Sons. We took into consideration the way they play when
holding a guitar and their own
expressions and mis-en-scene.
