Overview
Course Title: Flipgrid Training
Learning objective: Learners will be able to:
- Understand the benefits of flipped learning
- Identify the different Features of Flipgrid
- Create a Flipgrid course
Description Text Traditional learning methods use direct instruction, which is an explicit, instructor-
directed style to teaching in which sessions are heavily planned and organized. The
teacher offers material, generally in the form of lectures, under this approach, and
the student becomes a passive learner. Flipped learning was recently presented as an
alternative, and it has risen in favor, particularly among teachers.
In this course, you’ll learn how to create great lessons for your flipped learning
on Flipgrid platform, you will also be able to identify the different features on Flipgrid
platform. Click on the lesson below or click "Start Course" above to dive in.

Introduction
Flipped Learning is a pedagogical approach in which direct instruction moves from the group
learning space to the individual learning space, transforming the resulting group space into a
dynamic, interactive learning environment in which the educator guides students as they
apply concepts and engage creatively in the subject matter.

Summary
The flipped classroom has deep connections to active learning, and that made it spread
considerably throughout K-12 education. Many schools, colleges, universities, and
educational centers have adopted this approach. Here are three tips to get off on the right
foot:
Flipped classroom is a learner-centered innovative approach, a combination of e-learning,
and face-to face.
Students are encouraged to engage in self-learning pre-class.
In-class time, teachers provide students with opportunities to practice and apply to promote
deeper understanding and engagement in the material learned.

Flipgrid is a video discussion tool created in collaboration with Microsoft and developed
primarily for teachers and students in a digital classroom. The goal of this educational tool is
to use video to provide an open platform for conversation and learning that does not require
a physical classroom.
Flipgrid is therefore an excellent remote learning tool as well as a powerful homework-based
application for students to collaborate on.

No judgment. It is created to allow students to speak to the group without the same worry
of being judged in a real-life environment. Students can re-record their comments, alleviating
the burden of having to respond immediately in class.
Communicate with others. It can communicate with others via video, similar to face-to-face
interactions in the actual world, but without the pressure of a live classroom. Because
students are given the room and time to answer when they're ready, even the most
apprehensive pupils who might otherwise feel left out of class can participate in instructional
activities.
Rich media. The ability to add rich media encourages students to be creative and, potentially
more importantly, expressive. By adding emoji, text, and stickers, students can engage with
class content as they might interact with friends using social media platforms.
Ready lessons. Flipgrid currently offers more than 25,000 lessons and activities, and more
than 35,000 Topics, helping you to create new Topics or use existing ones quickly and easily.

Summary
At its most basic, Flipgrid is a video application that allows teachers to submit "Topics," which
are essentially movies with some accompanying text, on their websites. This information is
subsequently distributed to learners, who may be asked to reply.
The answer can be done by recording videos with the software's camera and then posting
them to the original Topic. Before posting, these movies can be filmed as many times as
needed, and they can include emoji, text, stickers, drawings, or custom stickers.

Apply course concepts to the real world. Flipgrid prompts can be used to have learners
explain how they would apply a concept from your course to a real-world circumstance or
problem.
Have learners reflect on the class. One suggestion made by Flipgrid is for learners to write a
course reflection. This could be for yourself or to provide guidance to future students on how
to succeed.
Ask learners to demonstrate hands-on learning. Starting conversations can be as simple as
talking about your surroundings, common interests, or the weather. Try open-ended
questions to avoid one-word dead ends.
Have learners present on Flipgrid. Flipgrid allows learners to exhibit their research, papers,
speeches, and other course work. They'll simply use the screen recording capability to
educate their friends as if they were in a classroom.
Ask questions in Flipgrid. Allowing learners to react to questions you ask them outside of

Storyboard - Flipgrid Training .pptx

  • 2. Overview Course Title: Flipgrid Training Learning objective: Learners will be able to: - Understand the benefits of flipped learning - Identify the different Features of Flipgrid - Create a Flipgrid course Description Text Traditional learning methods use direct instruction, which is an explicit, instructor- directed style to teaching in which sessions are heavily planned and organized. The teacher offers material, generally in the form of lectures, under this approach, and the student becomes a passive learner. Flipped learning was recently presented as an alternative, and it has risen in favor, particularly among teachers. In this course, you’ll learn how to create great lessons for your flipped learning on Flipgrid platform, you will also be able to identify the different features on Flipgrid platform. Flipgrid prompts can be used to have learners explain how they would apply a concept from your course to a real-world circumstance or problem. Have learners reflect on the class. One suggestion made by Flipgrid is for learners to write a course reflection. This could be for yourself or to provide guidance to future students on how to succeed. Ask learners to demonstrate hands-on learning. Starting conversations can be as simple as talking about your surroundings, common interests, or the weather.
