2. The name of the film is The Chatroom and the
seeding of the film is mainly indoors but there are
some outdoor scenes. We wanted each environment
to have a reflection of the character. The murderer
was located in a basement to show his dark and evil
personality. This was the complete opposite for the
girl as she was located in brightly coloured room. This
was done to show her bubbly character and to display
that she was in love with the person that she was
talking to online.
3. For the murderer we had to topless to show is brute
and cave-man like nature. We also wanted him to
have scruffy hair, purple lips/teeth and dirty hands.
This was juxtaposed for the girl as she had clean
image. Her nails were were done to show this and
room was relatively tidy. There were various props
used like: laptops, a lighter, teaspoon, a rope and fake
blood.
4. One of the main editing features that was used in
the opening the sequence was the dissolve
transition. This was used to used throughout the
opening sequence to show the contrasting
behaviour between the two characters. Also a lot
of close ups were used to keep the identities
hidden. Panning shots, over the shoulder shots
and POV shots were also used. There was one
song that was playing throughout the
sequence, it was Lord Knows Best By Dirty
Beaches. The title font that was used is papyrus.
The style that was applied to this font was slim
so that the text was as thin as italic but it did not
have the slant to it. is a screen shot the font
This
and style that was used in the
opening sequence.
5. The story is about a serial killer that grooms all of
his victims through the use of a chatroom
changing his name and identity so his real
identity is completely hidden. The murder that his
shown in the opening sequence was just one of
the murders that he carries out in his everyday
life. There's an element of being a psychopath in
this character. The opening sets it up by showing
what the murderer is about and how the basics of
what his does goes down.
6. The genre that describes this film is horror and
you opening suggests this by having absolutely
no dialogue. Also the opening shot is the him
opening beer can which gets the audience ready
for something that is possibly gritty and scummy.
We even show him in his environment which is
basement where his alone and there's even a
point where there's drug use.
7. Both characters are introduced relatively at the
same time but there's a big difference in how
they are revealed. The murderer's opening shot
is a close up of his hands opening a beer can.
This suggests that his old and possibly an
alcoholic. The opening shot for the girl is a close
up of her hands opening a bottle of water which
implies she's pure and innocent victim.
