3. | objective |
To design a kitchen following the guidelines
of the 2015/2016 NKBA |National Kitchen &
Bath Association| Student Design
Competition
| solution |
A traditional kitchen with a rustic twist. A
mixture of light and dark finishes, adds a
nice contrast of materials. The use of an
angular peninsula allows an open concept
feeling. Carved detailing on the range
hood, showy rainstorm glass tile
backsplash, dark hardwood flooring, light
cabinetry, and matte black hardware add to
this refined rustic kitchen.

‘Palette’ is an upscale makeup
store that caters to any and all
women. Palette is inspired by
elegance, luxury, and natural
beauty. The contrast between the
black and white throughout the
space helps to create dramatic
ambiance. The use of damask
wallpaper, marble flooring, round
linen pendants, and sleek black
cabinetry reinforce this high-end
glamorous makeup store. This chic
and modern look will help to create
a visual attraction to potential
customers and subsequently create
more business.
