2. NAME OF MAGAZINE
I had to come up with a name for my music magazine, so I brain
stormed some idea and came up with four names. The names
that I have come up are: HRR Magazine, Rap Stars, Hitl ist
Magazine and Loophole. Out of these four names I have chosen
to go with. RapStars for my name because I thought that It fit in
with the Genre of the magazine real ly wel l and also that target
audience.
3. POSITIONING STATEMENT
The positioning statement that I have chosen to use for my
mu s i c ma g az in e i s ‘Wh e n words fai l , Ra p mu s i c s p e a ks ’ . I
have chosen to use this because it l inks to rap music and I
think this is a true statement.
4. DISTRIBUTION
My music magazine wi l l be released monthly. This is because
most Rap and R&B magazines are released monthly. As a
result of this my magazine wi l l be a bit more pricey. My
magazine wi l l be sold in either a music store l ike HMV or you
wi l l be able to buy it at some news agents.
5. PRICE
My music magazine wi l l be priced at £4. This is because it wi l l
be released every month, so I wi l l have to raise the price of
the magazine so that I can make a l ittle bit of profit because
of things l ike production costs.
6. RATIONALE
The aims of my magazine are:
To promote popular and upcoming ar tists
Inform people of new music which is being released
Have a monthly top 40 char t
Adver tise for other companies to earn more money
7. STYLE/ LAYOUT/ COLOUR
Style:
The style of my magazine wi l l be a typical Rap music sor t of
style. So it wi l l have graf fiti type lettering for the mast head
and a big feature ar ticle photo.
Layout:
My Magazine wi l l have a feature ar ticle photo in the center
with the masthead just behind so that you can see most of it,
a cover l ine on the side, adver tisements on the side, barcode
on the bottom, a head l ine, an anchorage and a menu strip.
Colour:
The colours that wi l l feature on my music magazine are: Red,
Black, White and Blue
8. REGULAR CONTENT
The regular content that wi l l be in my magazine:
There wi l l always be a top 40 char t every month
There wi l l always be information on new music that has just
been released or that is coming out soon.
There wi l l always be adver tisement for other companies.
The magazine wi l l always be based mostly on one ar tist or
group each week.
9. FEATURED CONTENT
The featured content that wi l l be on my magazine:
There wi l l be a magazine based on what time of year it is, so
there wi l l be special versions of it for example a Christmas
special .
There wi l l sometimes be big prize giveaways, so you could win
something expensive l ike an Xbox one or an I Pad.
There wi l l also be one version that comes out every summer
which focuses on a few ar tists and groups instead of just one.
