Observing that more than 40% of their conversions were taking place through their mobile website, Urban Ladder decided to build an agile, quick and reliable mobile app that increased conversions, focused on being user productive and transcended physical stores and mobile website purchases. The process called for a reliable, convenient solution that ensures productivity and simultaneously provides users with a good experience as well. This called for insights into user interface, simplicity in design and reliability. 01 MOBILE WEBSITE REVIEW The initial steps involved not just the scope of the app, but also focused on porting the precise features of the website to the app as well. We identified that while more than 40% of users used the mobile website for purchases, this did not necessarily indicate immediate purchase. The app called for an intuitive design that was agile and more customized to user expectations. Currently new product releases reached the customer via e-mail. This did not ensure maximum reach. 02 INTERFACE DESIGN The interface design was realized keeping Urban Ladder’s requirements in mind. This included customizing the design to ensure great user experience without compromising on functionality. A push button notification was added to the design to facilitate instant updates on new products and offers, amongst others. Android and iOS compatibility also enabled the app to run on a much larger set of mobile devices and have an expanded target audience. 03 APP IMPLEMENTATION & QA Developers worked to create the initial version of the app on both iOS and Android platforms keeping the requirements in mind. Once this was set, the next step was to resolve bugs and pop-ups that may affect the functionality of the app. This is an important step when developing mobile apps, which require high stability and usability. 04 BETA TRIALS A control group offered feedback and suggestions to ensure the app experience resulted in a successful launch. The development team considered these and adjusted the app to accommodate relevant feedback. 05 UPLOADED TO GOOGLE PLAY AND APP STORE Once uploaded, the app was available to all customers on the App and Play stores. While Version 1.0 included basic account details, Version 1.1 included account and some additional features. Solution
