Objectives
To provide excellent nutritional education, counseling, and resources to patients and clients with varying levels of
food insecurity, disease or conditions in order to encourage and support each person’s optimal health.
To support a team of wellness practitioners in providing paramount health care to clients and patients by offering and

Western Human Nutrition Research Center November, 2015 - Present
(USDA Metabolic Kitchen)
• Volunteering to aid in the production of science based nutrition research for the USDA by preparing, stocking,
creating, packaging and administering food, drinks and meals to study participants
Sacramento Naturopathic Medical Center Volunteer November, 2015 – December, 2015
• Worked on a collaborative nutrition analysis and menu development project with Dr. Dennis Godby
Sacramento Food Bank and Family Services;
Parent Education Program Intern/Volunteer June, 2015 – August, 2015
• Prepared, created and presented educational workshops/classes on breastfeeding and baby cues to low income
community members through Parent Education Program
• Helped to provide products such as clothes, diapers, baby food, blankets, car seats, strollers, etc. to community
members

Human Lactation Center Intern June, 2015 – August, 2015
• Worked as an assistant for Dr. Jane Heinig and Jennifer Banuelos in producing research involved in reducing
childhood obesity by means of training parents about baby behavior

CommuniCare Perinatal Nutritionist Volunteer October, 2014 – Jan., 2015
• Worked as an assistant for the Perinatal Dietitian at the CommuniCare locations in both Woodland and West
Sacramento, California.
• Duties included performing 24-hour diet recalls; interviewing patients regarding experiences during pregnancy;
creating hand-outs; producing gestational weight gain growth charts for clients; interpreting Spanish for the
dietitian; pulling and filling charts; printing, and copying.
Childcare Provider/ Post-partum Doula/Nanny March 2011 – Present
• Completed a post-partum doula course at Birthingway, College of Midwifery, in Portland, Oregon (March, 2011).
• Became a full-time childcare provider for two families (May, 2011).

• Provided care for two infants each weekday from 8:30am – 4:30 pm until moving from Portland, Oregon to
Davis, California for education at UC Davis.
• Services included educating and supporting the mothers in breast feeding and lactation, aiding in the training of
breast-milk bottle feeding, sleep training, teaching and using “baby sign language” before speech began to
develop, taking the children to music and reading classes, incorporating and encouraging “baby-lead weaning”
techniques.

• Barista at Marino Adriatic Café in Portland, Oregon.
• Duties included: preparing, serving, and selling coffee drinks, sandwiches, smoothies, and deserts; cleaning
and maintenance of the kitchen, front of house and restroom; shopping for needed food and grocery supplies;
accounting.

wholesale selling at local Farmers’ Markets; harvesting and selling a variety of tropical fruits and vegetables
for local markets; caring for the chickens and ducks; cleaning, maintenance and building on the farm.
