Firstly, use a professional font like Arial, Calibri or Helvetica

4. SUMMARY
Next, use a summary to introduce yourself and to highlight things you won’t
cover later on.
Aim for between 150 -250 words.
Tailor it to the application too:
‘My personality and values align with XXX’s because…’

USE BOLD UNDERLINED COMPANY NAME & ITALICISED DATES
THEN JOB TITLE & DATES OF YOUR CURRENT ROLE HERE
For each role:
• Make sure that you talk about what you’ve done, and aren’t vague
• Keep your achievements quantifiable. Numbers get you noticed!

6. As a benchmark, highlight at least the last 5 years of your career in detail.
However, make sure that you include all your relevant experience.

7. OTHER EXPERIENCE
COMPANY NAME – JOB TITLE - DATES
Next, list your older or less relevant roles.
This provides a full work history, without taking up lots of room.
Don’t have any employment gaps on your CV.

8. EDUCATION
List your educational qualifications, but again – stay relevant and concise.
Also list any industry-specific qualifications or memberships you hold.

9. OTHER ACHIEVEMENTS & INTERESTS
This is the place for anything that you haven’t covered already.
Charity or volunteering work fits in well, as does anything from outside the
workplace.
If in doubt, include it!
This section can demonstrate skills you haven’t shown so far.
