Slide 4:
I am an English teacher in seventh grade. I realize that the majority of the
students did not have the opportunity to receive classes years ago.
They have difficulty in listening skill because they feel frustrated if they do not
understand a word.
I decide to have more listening activities in the laboratory to develop that skill.
Next week, I am going to begin with slow songs and more exercises.
They do not have an English environment, but I trust in my students and me
and they will develop that skill.
18. Slide 5:
The majority of my students had not received English classes so, I began from
the basic content of the language.
I remember that in their first presentation, I explained them the content they
had to share and the rubric. When they began writing the sentences, a student
told me if I could help him because he did not like to make mistakes. I told him
that making mistakes is good because he learns from it so, he wrote the
sentences, and I checked them.
After that, we practiced the pronunciation.
Before he had the presentation, he was so nervous and did not want to use the
microphone, it was his first presentation in English. He had an excellent
presentation so, I stuck a sticker for his effort and dedication, and he was so
happy. In that moment, I felt satisfied because he could do what he thought he
could not do it.
19. Slide 6:
I know that I have made mistakes in my job. I sometimes feel frustrated
because I do not have enough time to finish with the content; I have three
periods a week I have to work in the workbook, student book, and notebook. It
is complicated because I would like to do a lot of activities to develop the four
skills.
I consider that I can achieve more with my students and I am still looking for
that way which helps me while I try to do my best effort in classes to achieve
they get meaningful learning.
Being a teacher is not easy, I love my career and feel good with my work. I will
not change my career because it makes me feel happy and satistied.
20. Slide 9:
I have the following skills:
Verbal communication skills: I explain the content in a clearly way and
give examples of real-life situations.
Manage people: I can manage my students in a fast way, they do the
activities in the exact time I say because they follow the instructions.
Preparing material: I like to use my creativity when I prepare material for
classes because I am a visual learner and I consider that it is better to use
colors, pictures, mind-maps, and videos for classes.
Preparing activities: I like to prepare different kind of activities as games
to avoid my students get bored in my classes.
