New Activities in College
2. The CSM has been able to deliver the
following Sportivate Activities so they
can happen in college:
Boxercise
Zumba
Polo
Go Ski
Go Board
Table Tennis
Swim 4 Health Membership
Judo
Trampolining
IM Basketball
Run Club
Rounders
Squash
These sports have offered over 212
activity spaces for students. In total,
over 200 students have taken up these
opportunities.
In a normal week only 12% say
they do not take part in at least
30 minutes of physical activity
compared to 22.5% nationally.
When completing 30 minutes of
physical activity a week, 44% say
they do this with an organised
sports club or organisation
OUTSIDE of college. However a
fabulous 41% say they do this
AT college.
40% of PSC students say they do
less sport/physical activity now
than this time last year.
67% of PSC students have agreed
that they continue to take part in
sport/physical activity whilst at
college because they have a
keen interest in it.
Both male (82%) and female
(81%) agree that the major barrier
stopping them from participation
in sport/physical activity is the
lack of time due to increasing
pressures at college/work.
The majority of PSC students,
95%, realise that one of the main
benefits of taking part in
sport/physical activity is to
improve fitness.

Active Colleges Student Participation Survey,
May 2013
