Sailing at SWAC
In February the Sailing Team moved to
Southampton Water Activities Centre
(SWAC) to continue with their Winter
Training. The centre has been superb! The
Sailors who have attended Training sessions
at the centre have really improved on their
boat control and racing techniques.
At weekends, a few members of the squad
also sail Keelboats there. During the 2 Winter
Series they finished 2nd. A great
achievement! Congratulations!
Karting Team
Six of our Go Karters got through to the
Regional Finals at Thruxton on the 24th April.
Both teams did some superb racing. The C
Team just missed out on Nationals finishing
in 7th place and the A Team finished in 10th
place overall.
Recreational Lacrosse
Funded through Sportivate from Sport
Hampshire and IOW, students from PSC took
part in Recreational Lacrosse sessions where
they learnt the basic skills of Lacrosse.
Those who completed the 11 weeks received
their very own lacrosse stick. We hope this
incentive encourages them to continue
playing either in college or at local Lacrosse
Clubs.
Dodgeball is a big hit
During January – March, over 25 students
took part in Dodgeball on a weekly basis. Of
these, nine entered a Regional Dodgeball
Tournament at South Downs College. The
competition was fierce with the team
finishing 4th overall. Well done guys!
Sports Teams raise £206.77 for
Sport Relief
During March, the Sports Teams took part in a
variety of Sport Relief matches to raise money for
Sport Relief. Thank you to all of the students, who
took part, helped lead, umpire and photograph
the event. More than anything thank you for your
contributions to Sport Relief.
Cheerleaders enter big Competition!
On the 18th June 2016, the College Cheerleaders
will be entering the British Cheerleading
Association Stunt Level 1 Competition. This event
takes place in Guildford each year. They have put
in a lot of extra hours training. Good luck PSC
Panthers!
