Put the "FUN" in Fundraising.
People are more likely to donate to a cause they care about. Consider the
surrounding community and what they are passionate about.
Be selective with who you partner with. Not all non-profits are the same, you
want to work with people that want to help promote your race. Remember it's
a symbiotic relationship, where both parties benefit.
Make sure you describe your charity or fundraiser on ITS YOUR RACE. By
adding more information, you are creating an essential emotional bond
between your fundraiser and your participants.

10. REFERRALS
The Science Behind Successful Referrals
Race Directors/Timers can decide who will get a code. It could be select
influencers or everyone who signs up! Discounts can be customized to
meet the needs of the race.
There's no limit on how many people can use a single code!
Automated referral messages are included in every registration
confirmation email to maximize engagement.
MASTER REFERRALS
Promote Early
Promote early and frequently to increase
awareness for the race. Let people know that
they can save their friends and family money
and earn back cash for themselves.
Offer Additional Rewards
You can track referral codes in IYR. Reward
athletes who get the most friends signed up.
This can be as simple as a $10 gift card, or
even something a sponsor can donate in kind!
Referrals are proven to work if BOTH parties receive an incentive. Let
your participants run wild with referrals and watch your registrations
grow.
Once turned on, referrals will automatically appear on
the receipt page and in the registration confirmation
email with a referral link and the following message:
Tell your friends about our event and we'll pay you
back. For every 2 registrants who click the link
below and register, we'll give you a $5.00 refund.
