feelings.
● Belle (Dynamic Communicator): I am not afraid to speak my mind, but also let other
people be heard and understood.

● Taylor Swift: I need a bit of a confidenceboost! Always am shocked every time
people complimentme or give me an award/some kind of recognition.
● Meghan Trainor: Still learning to have confidencein myself,but getting closer
and closerto having great self esteem each day!
Day 5: July 13
*PUBLIC SPEAKING AND PRESENTATION*
Nervous to speak in frontof others? Here are some 10 tips on how to be a
fantastic public speaker:
1. Have confidence/energy in your tone and posture (The audience won’t know you’re nervous
inside!)
2. Eye contact. Look at your audience! There are some good looking folks watching you speak.
3. Posture is key. Stand up straight!
4. Don’t be afraid to use hand gestures. (Just don’t overly use them)
5. Avoid filler words! (like, umm, uhh, so, mmm, and, etc.)
6. Know your audience. (How will you talk to a group of preschoolers vs. a group of 30 year old
businessmen/businesswomen)
7. Speak slow and e-n-u-n-c-i-a-t-e.
8. Do not read from your notes.
9. Be yourself. (The audience can see right through the act on stage)
10.Thank your audience when done! (They like feeling appreciated too)

8 Reasons why teamwork is important from the Happy Manager:
1. Creates synergy – where the sum is greater than the parts.
2. Supports a more empowered way of working, removing constraints which may prevent
someone doing their job properly.
3. Promotes flatter and leaner structures, with less hierarchy.
4. Encourages multi-disciplinary work where teams cut across organizational divides.
5. Fosters flexibility and responsiveness, especially the ability to respond to change.
6. Pleases customers who like working with good teams (sometimes the customer may be
part of the team).
7. Promotes the sense of achievement, equity and camaraderie, essential for a motivated
workplace.
8. When managed properly, teamwork is a better way to work!

“Organizing ahead of time makes the work more enjoyable. Chefs cut up the onions
and have the ingredients lined up ahead of time and have them ready to go. When
everything is organized you can clean as you go and it makes everything so much
easier and fun.” Anne Burrell
Steps to Planning a Successful Project
Step 1: Set your GOAL
Step 2: Gather Ideas and DECIDE on ONE
Step 3: Success is in the DETAILS
Step 4: Do not proceed without required approvals (example: principal’s clearance)
Step 5: Organize and Publicize
Step 6: Have the Activity
Step 7: Evaluate
Step 8: Thank Everyone!
Step 9: File everything
What Animal are you?
● Lion: You are usually in the front of the group, taking initiative to help your group organize and
complete tasks.
● Dog: You a great communicator. You may not be front and center of the planning of activities,
but you listen and are respectful to your peers, and are able to bring people together.
● Cheetah: You are very efficient with your time. You do not procrastinate your work, but
sometimes you might rush to get things done.
● Cat: You keep everything organized majority of the time. You may not be the best
communicator, but you quietly and calmly complete tasks.
