Introduction
 For more than 30 years, Kimberly deCastro has led the government contractor
Wildflower International, Ltd. As one of the most successful female CEOs in New
Mexico, Kimberly deCastro is an advocate and proponent of corporate practices that
encourage diversity in leadership.
Workplaces that encourage and promote women leaders also create an environment
that benefits all employees. Data from a four-year study conducted by HR-focused
analytics firm Peakon discovered a strong link between companies with gender parity
in leadership and employee engagement.
This trend may reflect the tendency for women to work for mission-driven companies.
In turn, when women lead and shape company culture, the environment fosters
engagement and enthusiasm through flexible and remote work arrangements and the
freedom to self-direct.
Employees at companies with higher numbers of women in leadership positions were
also more likely to recommend their company’s services or goods to others and
report that company leadership is taking the right direction.

In turn, when women lead and shape company culture, the environment fosters engagement and enthusiasm through flexible and remote work arrangements and the freedom to self-direct. Employees at companies with higher numbers of women in leadership positions were also more likely to recommend their company’s services or goods to others and report that company leadership is taking the right direction.
