Kimberly deCastro is the founder and owner of Wildflower International, a technology provider working with the federal government. Kimberly deCastro has led Wildflower International from its humble beginnings into a $250 million company. Wildflower’s unmanned aircraft is one of its signature offerings, with both government and private applications. Unmanned aircraft are seeing more and more use in business applications by the day, and that trend is likely to continue in the coming years. Although some industries, such as agriculture, will see much faster growth, the use of UAVs will quickly spread throughout other sectors as regulations limiting their use start to diminish. Another trend is the consolidation of vendors and manufacturers. Currently, the UAV industry has grown from a small number of early startups, but the myriad small players that quickly developed are coalescing into larger organizations. This growth is bound to drive further advances in imaging sensors, AI integration, and many other functions much more quickly than they otherwise would have been developed.
