3. IS YOUR LMS MOBILE-READY AND
MULTIPLATFORM?
I chose the “Is Your LMS Mobile-Ready and Multiplatform?”
because teachers can communicate with students and provide
easy online access to lessons. Learning management systems
are student centered that focuses on students’ needs and equal
opportunities for everyone. LMS lets teachers experiment and
apply different learning models and techniques. Not only is LMS
beneficial for teachers, but it is beneficial for parents. They can
log in to the system to check their child’s attendance, grades, and
communicate with teachers. This builds parent-teacher
relationships for effective communication and parents’
involvement with the students’ learning.
4. HOW TO ACCOMMODATE STUDENTS
WITHOUT DEVICS
Use a station so students can watch, while others begin the
activity
DVDs/Flash Drives
Set up alternative locations (get volunteers to allow students to
use devices at lunch or after school, library access, opening your
room before/after school)
Encourage parents to take advantage of community resources
(libraries, places that have free Wi-Fi, coffee shops, bookstores,
etc)
Set up a donate-a-computer program with local businesses
5. GROUPING
I would group students by assess their knowledge on computer
skills and technology (pre-assessment) before giving them access
to technology. The pre-assessment will allow me to quickly find
out the amount of support each student needs. Also, it will assist
me in grouping them. Once I get the students’ ability levels, I will
accommodate for the students will less knowledge by giving mini
lessons while the rest of the class work on technology. I will also
assign different roles to the students based on their knowledge.
The students that are more knowledge can be members of a team
that can help students with assignments. The students on teams
will have roles to keep them attentive and on task.
