Editor's Notes

  1. 3 basic ways of using forums – content and support is a student to tutor model, used to support interaction with tutors. Integrated is used for students to talk to students about collaborative projects. We are going to focus on the Wrap Around today – which is a forum where interaction is an important part of student interpretation of the material.
  2. Simple - one topic - any number of responses General - any number of topics, any number of responses Q&A - one topic, can’t see responses until post your own
  3. If you are using forums and all of the students’ other course coordinators are using forums – students will be overwhelmed.
  4. Talk to other course coordinators Save discussions for the meaty stuff – and Look for other ways of engaging with students and for engaging students with each other
