She is a great teacher and presented the material in an effective way. I have learned a
great deal from this class and I feel as if that is directly correlated to how good a
teacher Dr. Mercer is.
Dr. Mercer is an excellent instructor. Speaking in front of groups isn't an easy task for
most of us, and she was able to relate to us, and help make the whole process easier.
The book was useful, and she was able to add to the reading material with practical
examples. She also uses class exercises daily, which help with impromptu speaking,
and publics peaking in general, since many of the exercises were about how to
properly organize thoughts. Again, excellent instructor! I'd take another class with her,
and recommend her to others.
She was very knowledgeable about the subject and she gave us countless group
activities and speeches which covered the course in a broad range. She is an excellent
teacher and I would recommend her to my friends.
My instructor was good she actually emailed me back when I had questions about the
assignments and didn’t wait for up to four days to give me a response like my other
online teachers. So I was happy.
She gives us feedback on our online work! She actually grades things, and doesn’t just
let the computer grade things. She makes us videos that talks about our work from
the prior week, and the week ahead, and they are always nice, and motivational. You
can tell that she really cares that we truly understand how to do the work to improve
our business communication. If I made a mistake, she did not make me feel foolish
for doing so, she told me. I think that she is an excellent example of how a teacher
should be, especially for an online class
I found this to be a challenging and informative class. I feel it should be mandatory
for all courses. There is something in every chapter that will apply in some way to
every student at JCC. Dr. Mercer is available, enthusiastic, upbeat, and truly
encourages her students in all aspects of the class. I highly recommend this class to
everyone.
