2. The Artist
• Dominic Fike is a relatively new up and coming
artist, he became more mainstream with his song "3
nights" in which he signed a $4 million contract with
Columbia Records. However, he is yet to really blow
up. His genre includes rap alternative hip hop and
indie pop. His image is edgy, and he has a strong
connection to his hometown of Naples, Florida. He
is very original, maybe helped by the fact he has
served time. His face tattoos are hard to miss. Some
similar artists include Emily Zeck, Jagwar twin and
Goldn. The video for Acai Bowl is a stain on a napkin,
very simple and no performance or clear narrative.
4. Setting
The studio. We would set the camera in the center
of the studio, moving it to film different shots.
Black Walls and floor, lighting would change
throughout the sequence.
1st Set: Dim light, Guitarist.
2nd Set: Dancers behind screen
3rd Set: Band- 1 guitarist, 1 drums
The singer would be in every shot, moving the
camera as they move from one set to another.
5. In more detail…
• The music video would open with dim lights and one man playing acoustic guitar, the camera
moves closer, slowly towards the man then it goes to behind the man to show what he's looking
at. this would be a band, drums, guitar singer, the camera would then get pushed to a new
direction, this would show dancers behind a screen- abstract dancing. Close up on slow-
motion red wine spilling when the singer says "brought two bottles of red." there would be more
slow-motion shots, showing things breaking, symbolising certain parts of the song. it would then
go back to the band then back to guitar singer. There would be different singers during the song in
the video, different situations. a harp? helps close to a quiet peaceful ending. My main idea is as
the song reaches new beats and different elements, the image moves as well to show different
themes. Narrative and Concept.
