7. 1000s Application for CoirWood
in SMART CITIES & GREEN BUILDINGS
Smart Cities Mission is an urban renewal and retrofitting program
by the Government of India with a mission to develop 100 cities all
over the country making them citizen friendly and
sustainable. The Union Ministry of Urban Development is
responsible for implementing the mission in collaboration with the
state governments of the respective cities. The government of India
under Prime Minister Narendra Modi has a vision of developing
100 smart cities as satellite towns of larger cities and by
modernizing the existing mid-sized cities.
Green building (also known as green construction or sustainable
building) refers to both a structure and the using of processes that
are environmentally responsible and resource-efficient throughout
a building's life-cycle: from siting to design, construction,
operation, maintenance, renovation, and demolition.
10. Furniture Industry Way Forward
The fact that wood is not a generous
resource.
The industry can be categorized as highly
import dependent on its main input to
production.
Thus making it vulnerable to the vicissitudes
of the international conditions.
Adapt substitutes like
CoirWood.
11. CoirWood a wonderful Substitute
A sustainable resource, has good
environmental credentials, because it
is sourced from senile plantations,
originally planted and managed for
coconut and copra crops.
Availability is tied to the developing
harvesting and processing industry
across the tropics, particularly the
Asia-Pacific region and Africa.
Improved processing and products,
and growing, international demand,
will generate a continuous supply
from this resource.
12. SUSTAINABLE
SOURCE
With the world waking up to
the ecological threat posed by
mass deforestation, we sets out
to find a sustainable substitute
material to replace all forest
timber in furniture design.
we discover vast re cycled
plantations of coconut palm
trees as an alternative source
for wood.
14. The main objective of
the project is to
develop CoirWood
as a rainforest
hardwood substitute
Hope:
1.Create quality
livelihood for the Next
Gen Coir Fraternity
2.Develop a
sustainable alternative
Raw Material
3.Discover new
Markets and Products
15. RESEARCH &
DEVELOPMENT
CENTRE
To improve existing products
and procedures or to lead to
the development of new
products and procedures.
To improve on product lines,
and experience growth through
these improvements and
through the development of
new goods and services
16. DESIGN STUDIOS
A set of strategic and tactical activities, from idea
generation to commercialization, used to create a product
design. In a systematic approach, we conceptualize and
evaluate ideas, turning them into tangible inventions and
products. The product designer's role is to combine art,
science, and technology to create new products that
people can use. Our evolving role has been facilitated by
digital tools that now allow us to communicate, visualize,
analyze and actually produce tangible ideas.
Design Studio composed of Furniture Designers, industrial
scientists or researchers, all tasked with applied research
in technical, scientific or industrial fields, which is aimed
at the facilitation of the development of future products
or the improvement of current products and/or
operating procedures
17. PROTOTYPES
Prototyping is the design
verification phase of Product
Development used to demonstrate or
prove aspects of a
design. Prototyping is simply taking
the design from the virtual,
imaginary realm into the physical
world
