With 20 million cardholders and 16 million daily transactions today this system

Stops, Passenger Information Systems and the required application software packages (card
formatting (perso/pre-perso), financial backoffice clearing, charge-debit, fraud control, retail top-

• Automatic infrared system (“IRDA”) for data communication between mobile (buses) and station
equipment, patented, to download files from buses.

5. • ISTANBULKART: NXP/DesFire based smart contactless card electronic ticket for Istanbul Public
Transport Network (adult, student, senior , freepass, monthly card,..): 7.5 million cards issued since 2006.
• BIRGEC/IKIGEC/BESIBIRYERDE: full fare electronic disposable tickets based on NXP/ultralight used
for single, double, triple trips.
• New generation bus validator: to check, read/deduct/write to/from AKBIL, ISTANBULKART, BİRGEÇ,
İKİGEÇ, ÜÇGEÇ, etc…: using a contact touch port and contactless reader this ARM9/ LINUX based
validator is now in use since 2006 in the entire public transport network of Istanbul on 6000+ buses ,
1600+ turnstiles including the MARMARAY system.
• Ticket Vending Machine for selling and refilling of AKBIL, ISTANBULKART and tokens: a full
featured TVM with touchscreen, GPRS connectivity , POS and WEB interface, banknote and coin
acceptors, ticket dispensers, change returns.
• Portable GPRS/POS for refilling AKBIL and ISTANBULKART: 2000+ devices in use by authorized
sales outlets, newspaper and tobacco kiosks.
• AKYOLBIL: GPS/GPRS and WiFi based Vehicle Tracking System, Fleet Management System and
Smart Busstop System with passenger info display terminals and Central Control Facility for the entire
bus fleet (6000+ buses) of the Public Transport Network in Istanbul.
• On-Bus Passenger Information Display System, LCD monitors fed from/connected to on-board bus
computer.
• On-Board Bus Computer design (mass production in Taiwan) and installation/ operation on all 6000+
buses of the Istanbul Public Transport Network: INTEL/ LINUX based, with touchscreen, industrial
range, WiFi, GPS/GPRS, …
• Parking Fee Collection and Management System: using portable handheld computers with GPRS,
payment options with ISTANBULKART , cash or via SMS/Mobile phone and a versatile supervisory
management backoffice software. This system has been put into service in the city of Kutahya together
with the electronic fare collection system.
• Comprehensive software packages: software packages for financial clearing/settlement of the daily
revenues among operators (17 in Istanbul), data transmission, data integrity/validity checks, field/remote
monitoring, customer claims/complaints, etc.
• FUELCELL (PEM) based (Hydrogen-to- Electricity) , electrical motor driven 50 passenger capacity boat
for Istanbul Municipality: design , construction, installation, integration and operation of electrical
modules (Inverters, converters, charging system, battery bank and control electronics) in the laboratory.
A million dollar project funded and approved by TUBITAK / the Turkish Scientific Council.
• New generation dual mode bus/turnstile validator: to check, read/deduct/write to/from various smart
contactless cards and single trip magnetic tickets in Bursa, Usak, Merzifon, Ankara, Kayseri: this ARM
9/ LINUX based validator with touchscreen monitor is now in use in the public transport network on
4450+ buses and 280+ turnstiles and is being expanded on private buses, trams and municipal services.
• Gate type Access/ID and Ticket Control Validator with camera (face comparison), smart card reader,
colour display and modem for use in the Turkish Football Federation network in 30+ football arenas.
Extensive software for ticket purchasing and realtime validation/supervision at access gate.
• Development (Radio Fingerprint Algorithm) and POC for a Location Identification and Tracking System
using Bluetooth beacons and Raspberry based WiFi-BLE transceivers.
