Membership is free and users can engage in educational and recreational conversations. Tumblr can be used in education by having students post and comment on each other's artwork or writing combined stories together. Some pros are that students can follow each other and discuss assignments outside of class, while cons include Tumblr not being filtered so inappropriate content could be found, and monitoring blogs takes time.

easily, monitoring the blogs would take up
time and energy.
