2. I am going to discuss why being a
perfectionist can be a bad thing when
it comes to building an online business.
In order to achieve an online business
you have to take action consistently.
If you are finding yourself stuck and not
moving forward then you may need to
change your attitude.
3. I am a perfectionist and I like
things to be totally correct and
perfect before I can carry on to
the next thing.
4. When starting my own online business
this attitude was good and bad.
I soon discovered that there are times
when perfection is not needed or
necessary.
Let me state straight away that I am
not saying you can produce rubbish or
sub standard work but rather you
don’t need to make it perfect!
5. Website
I find that people take such a long
time deciding on a theme to use
that this can really slow things
down.
Does it really matter as long as you
get your website up and running
and start adding content?
6. What is more important?
To spend weeks deciding on the
perfect theme or to have 4 weeks
worth of content on your site and
begin to develop authority with the
search engines?
7. Products
Creating products can take a
long time but if you go back and
tweak it and change every single
paragraph you can waste so
much time.
8. If you create an audio and you
edit every single 'um' then you will
take forever to actually get in a
position to sale your product.
9. What is important is that the
information contained within your
product is of high quality and provides
the kind of results you have promised
in your sales letter.
If you spell one word incorrectly then
does it really matter?
10. Obviously you need to check to
make sure that you have
produced something to a
professional standard but to keep
going over and over and
changing every little thing is a
waste of your time.
11. Email Campaigns
Writing emails is another place where
being a perfectionist can waste a lot
of time.
It is better to write 20 emails and then
to monitor the results to find out which
ones your subscribers like best, than to
spend time writing what you believe to
be the best campaign!
12. Remember that your customers
will most likely think differently from
you!
Let them be the judge of your
emails and change the ones that
are not performing.
13. Everything you do in your business
must be of a high standard but
trying to make things better and
better will waste time and your
business will not grow as quickly as
it could.
