ANNOTATION ON AUDIO RECORDING OF
MY TEACHING PRACTICE
The Code of Ethics for Professional Teachers Article IV Section 1 states that
every teacher shall actively ensure that teaching is the noblest profession and
shall manifest genuine enthusiasm and pride in teaching as a noble calling. This
article made a great impact on my teaching practice and made me aware and
conscious on my attitude as I teach. Did I manifest enthusiasm and pride as I
teach? Reviewing this Code of Ethics made me formulate one of my teaching
philosophies which is to always be my best self when teaching. I vowed that I
will never let my personal and work problems affect the way I teach because my
learners deserve the BEST teacher who is happy and proud of serving them.
Article IV Section 2 also states that every teacher shall uphold the highest
possible standards of quality education, shall make the best preparations for the
career of teaching, and shall be at his best at all times and in the practice of his
profession. This article challenges me everyday to give quality education to my
pupils. How do I give quality education to my pupils? Of course, by equipping
myself first of the skills that would make me a capable teacher. I make sure that
I am 100% ready to face my class. That’s why I study my lessons, make my
lesson design, and prepare my instructional materials ahead of time to ensure
that I can provide the best learning experience to my pupils.
In my audio lesson, I can say that I have applied these two sections in Article
IV because first and foremost I have equipped myself with the skills of RBI
Teaching so that I can deliver the best instruction to my pupils on air. My attitude
in teaching as shown on the video has also been enthusiastic and eager as I
deliver my lesson.
Being a part of this Radio- Based Instruction is my attempt to bridge the
learning gap brought by the modular instruction during pandemic. This is a
duty that I have to perform as stated in Article VIII Section 9 that a teacher
shall ensure that conditions contribute to the maximum development of
learners are adequate, and shall extend needed assistance in preventing or
solving learner’s problems and difficulties. Radio-Based Instruction has able
to expand access to education especially to the likes of my pupils living in far
flung barangays. It was able to provide learning opportunities to listeners as
complimentary learning while using their SLM in the absence of actual face to
face interaction.
