Problems Faced:
The product has less wall thickness. After sparking job, there is a shrinkage, due to the fact that ID becomes
undersized and OD becomes oversized, causing a need for rework in both ID and OD.
Solution:
Changed the operation sequence, thereby:
1. Eliminating rejections due to deviation in sparking.
2. Rework cost and time is reduced.
3. Able to deliver the job on time without delay.
Fixture Made For MHI-VST Tie Rod
Company Employed In: Drill Fig Bushing Company (Madras) PVT. LTD.
Customer: Mahindra Heavy Industries – VST Diesel Systems PVT. LTD
Problems Faced:
Tie Rods are mounted using slip arrangement. This was time consuming, and desired flatness was not achieved.
Customer raised a serious complaint on this issue.
Solution:
Implemented Aluminium Fixtures, hence resulting in:
1. Customer is satisfied with the way of operation we handle.
2. Able to prove that blanks coming from customer end itself is problem.
3. Rejection at our end is prevented.

3. POKA YOKE Implementation

Problems Faced:
There was a minor problem occurring, where the job for OD Unground bushes was mistaken as OD Ground
bush, due to wrong date in the system.
Solution:
1. Caution given in Prospin (Database Management Tool) so that Quality Inspector get an alert of OD
Unground bushes and can differentiate from normal bushes.
2. Poka Yoke is implemented (Jobs can’t be misplaced)
3. Prevention of job from rejection (due to OD grinding).
Designed Plug Gauge And Its Utilisation

Problems Faced:
For Heimatec Sleeve it was new item which has Taper Bore with blind end.
Solution:
Used taper Plug gauge for Inspection purpose by designing and measuring the taper angle.
