need of work have been guaranteed 100 days of employment in a
year by the government.

give unemployment allowances to the people.

production from land will be given preference.
3. • Ways to increase employment opportunities in urban
areas :
(i) If credit is provided cheaply and easily, it will
encourage the setting up of small-scale business, or
self-employment.

set up more jobs in education line will be created and
those educated will also find jobs.

rural and urban areas employment will be generated
in the health sector.
(iv)Tourism must be promoted so that ancillary business
generated will bring employment.
(v) Small scale industries must be encouraged and
developed .
4. • In secondary sector more employment can be
generated . Because till date we are not having
sufficient machinery for proper styling and many
other activities.
• The tertiary sector covers a wide range of activities
from commerce to administration, transport,
financial and real estate activities, business and
personal services, education, health and social work.
• It is made of:
a) the market services sector (trade, transports,
financial operations, business services, personal
services, accommodation and food service activities,
real estate, information-communication);
b) the non-market sector (public administration,
education, human health, social work activities).
• In tertiary sector we can also create more
employment (In tourism, trade, transportation) and
many more sectors employment can be generated.
5. • We can create more employment in the
agricultural sector through the following ways:
• Diversifying agriculture: Farmers in India usually
grow only one type of crop.
• They should try mixed cropping or other
agricultural techniques to grow different types of
crops simultaneously.
• They can also practice horticulture, pisciculture,
apiculture, etc. along with farming. This will help
employ more people.
• Basic facilities: Government should provide basic
infrastructure in agriculture related facilities such
as transportation (building of roads), irrigation,
banking to ease the work of farmers.
• Subsidies can be provided. Dams and storages' can
be build.
6. • We can create more educational opportunities by educating all . The
Kalgidhar Society also focuses on employing women through Akal
Elementary Teacher Training Academy. The Akal Elementary
Teacher Training Academy is a product of The Kalgidhar Society in
an attempt to empower rural women through creating employment
opportunities for them in the field of education. Around 2000 girls
are studying in these programs at free of costs out of which several
are orphans.
• The program aims to employ more teachers to increase
employment in the nation. The Akal Elementary Teacher Training
Academy provides girls with hands -on teaching experience at Akal
Academy located at Baru Sahib as well as other Akal Academies
located at various parts of Northern India. After the teaching
training these girls are employed as teachers at the Akal Academies
itself as kindergarten and primary level teachers provided with
salaries equal to the salaries given to other regular teachers.
• These girls are selected on the basis of written tests and interview.
The salary given to them is as par with government scales of
salaries.
• Such kind of employment opportunities leads to sustainable
development of the nation and also independent citizens proving to
be an asset of value for the nation.
