6. 1. Attractive- pleasing or appealing to the senses
2. Stalk- the main stem of a plant
3. Topmost- highest in physical position
4. Accessory- a thing that can be added to
something to make it more useful or attractive
5. pollinate- deposit pollen on a plant
7. Flowers are attractive to butterflies.
The stalk of a bamboo is hard.
The topmost part of the body is the head.
8. The flower crown is an
accessory to her hair.
The bee helps pollinate the
flower.
12. Different plants have
different parts. They are
the roots, stems, fruits,
leaves and flowers.
They work together to
perform specific
functions. Flowers are
the most attractive part of
the plant. They are the
reproductive part of a
flowering plant. There are
also plants that have no
flowers, yet, they
reproduce, too.
13.
14. After going through this module, you are
expected to:
1. identify the reproductive
parts in a flowering plant;
A. Male Reproductive Parts
B. Female Reproductive Parts
2. describe the functions of
the reproductive parts of a
flowering plant
15. Activity 1. Make a Guess
A. Direction: Identify and label the parts of a flower. Choose your answer from
the words inside the box.

B. Direction: List down the male and female reproductive
parts of a flower in the chart below.
17. Guide Questions
1. What are the main reproductive
parts of the flower?
2. What are the male reproductive
parts of the flower?
3. What are the female reproductive
parts of the flower?
4. What are their specific functions?
18.
19. The main reproductive parts of the
flower are stamen and pistil.
1. What are the main reproductive parts of the
flower?
20. What are the male reproductive parts of the
flower?
Stamen is the male reproductive
organ of the flower.
It has three main parts:
1. anther
2. filament, and
3. pollen grains
21.
22. The anther is the topmost part of the stamen. It contains and produces
orange/yellow pollen grains inside the sac.
The filament is a slender stalk that holds the anther.
The pollen grain is a fine powdery structure. Inside the pollen grains are male
sex cells. Pollen from the anther of one flower is transferred to the stigma of
another usually by wind, or by animals, specifically, insects.
What are their specific functions?
23. What are the female reproductive parts of the
flower?
Pistil is the female reproductive organ of a
flower. Its shape is like bowling pin found at
the center of the flower.
It has 3 main parts:
1.stigma
2.style
3.ovary.
24.
25. The stigma is the flattened top of the pistil. It can take many different
forms, mostly designed to trap the pollens.
The style is a long tube structure that connects ovary to the stigma.
The ovary is the enlarged bulb. Inside the ovary are the ovules which
contains female sex cells. After fertilization, the ovule develops into a
seed and the ovary becomes a fruit.
26. Accessory Parts of a Flower
The flower also has accessory
parts such as:
1.petals
2.sepals
3.receptacle
27.
28. A flower bud is protected by small, green, leaf like structures
called sepals. All of the sepals collectively form a calyx.
Petal is highly colored portion of a flower. Flower has more
than one petal. Collectively the petals are called corolla.
Oftenly, sepals, are brightly colored which attracts insects.
The receptacle is the place on the stem where floral organs
originate and attach.
29. Activity 2:
Draw a flower and label its parts.
Rubrics:
5- The learner is able to draw a flower and label
all its parts correctly.
4-The learner is able to draw a flower and label
at least 5 of its parts correctly.
3-The learner is able to draw a flower and label 3
to 4 of its parts correctly.
2-The learner is able to draw a flower and label 1
to 2 of its parts correctly.
1-The learner is able or not able to draw a flower
and did not get any of its part correctly.
30. Activity 3:
Describe the function of the given part of the flower by completing the
statements below. Choose your answer from the phrases below.
The anther is _____________________________________.
The filament is____________________________________.
The stigma is______________________________________.
