Image 1- I liked the pattern created by the butterflies.
The repetition of the shapes creates visual harmony and
the eye is directed to the center focal point. (98).

Goal Statement
The goal of this redesign is to create an attractive campaign reflecting the naturalistic and family
feel of the venue at the Springs Preserve and to represent some of the spirit of various Asian
cultures residing around Southern Nevada.
The Springs Preserve provides the community with resources to learn about the environment,
history, and peoples of Southern Nevada. They empower people to make positive changes to help
nurture, respect, and conserve the environment. The grounds are host to an extensive garden, hiking
trails, two museums, a butterfly habitat, a gallery, the Desert Sol model home for sustainable living,
an amphitheater, a children’s playground, and Nature Exchange.
Some of the ways this re-brand will reflect the spirit of the event is through the use of color as
well as the oriental brush painting stye of the fonts. Red and gold are very important colors to many
Asian cultures. They signify celebration, prosperity, and happiness.
I also wanted to showcase the family events that the festival offered through it’s many crafting
workshops and Children’s parade. I felt that having an item that was created through crafts would be
the best symbol of the festival.

Target Audience
Since the Springs Preserve strives to be a family destination the main target audience are fami-
lies with children of any age. Other groups that would most likely come to the festival would
be people who wish to experience other cultures, people who would like to partake in celebrating
their own Asian culture, people who enjoy Asian music, food, or crafts, and people who enjoy being
outside in a garden setting.
