2. What makes them influential?
• Influencer marketing is “a type of social media
marketing that involves endorsements and product
placements in influencers”, (Geyser, 2022).
• What makes them influential is their large followings
on social media and constant engagement with their
followers through their accounts.
• They seem more “relatable” than celebrities we
hear about on the news all the time.
4. How influencer
marketing affects
consumers
• Influencers are able to build
this relationship with their
followers where they appear
authentic and even
vulnerable, and this makes
the consumers feel that they
can trust whatever this
influencer is promoting.
• It’s a great social media
strategy for companies to
implement to help their
company receive exposure.
5. Prominent example of influencer marketing
• Charli D’Amelio is a famous
TikTok star who become
known for her love of Dunkin
as she would frequently pose
with it or have it in her social
media content.
• Charli ended up collaborating
with Dunkin and launching
her own drink at Dunkin
called “The Charli” in 2020.
6. Stats
• Once she declared her partnership
on social media sites, Dunkin’s
Instagram had an audience growth
with about 2.12 million more
followers acquired after this
announced partnership
• The result was new customers and
more sales for Dunkin
(from
