As Bachelor Officer Quarters Non Commissioned Officer (May 2003- February 2004),
maintained liaison between Housing Director and Staff Non Commissioned Officer in Charge for
procurement of support services and establishment of contracts with outside vendors needed to
maintain and repair four sets of officer barracks within allotted budgeted, available resources and
deadlines. Enforced rules and regulations to ensure the smooth and orderly operation of the
Bachelor Officer Quarters. Organized, planned and prioritized work to ensure smooth and
complete work flow. Supervised, evaluated and held regular meetings with assigned staff. Used
independent and sound reasoning and judgement with minimal supervision from supervisors.
Evaluated and resolved any problems with billeting or with operations with respect, tact,
persuasiveness, diplomacy logical reasoning and adaptation and interpretation of accepted
practices, policies and procedures of billeting for common goals and objectives to be met.
Proficient at general clerical administrative duties. Instructed, advised and delegated
responsibilities to other professionals of major and minor building and grounds maintenance,
pest control, and janitorial services. Trained new personnel in administrative duties, new or
changing procedures and guidelines. Maintained electronic (using Microsoft Outlook), personal
and telephone contact and liaison with other transient Billeting Non Commissioned Officers,
visiting dignitaries and other officials in regards to billeting matters of regulations, operation and
maintenance procedures exchange of information regarding procedures for checking in and
checking out of the transient Bachelor Officer Quarters and transient Bachelor Enlisted Quarters
and to ensure that billeting was up to standards. When certain criteria of housing could not be
met, other proper arraignments were made following established protocol and regulations.
Provided recommendations for updating base local transient Officer and Enlisted housing
protocols. Requested supplies, manpower and resources using appropriate government forms or
via computer program. Generated purchase orders and requisitions for necessary equipment and
supplies to ensure smooth operation and maintenance of buildings. Created, updated and
maintained reports of varying billeting occupancy, allotted budget usage, and reservations of
accommodations, using Microsoft Word and Excel.
As Training Non Commissioned Officer (March 2001- December 2002, February 2003-May
2003) scheduled monthly periods of instruction for no less than 20 professionals. Scheduled and
prioritized appropriate yearly and special training for individual Marines, ensured attendance and
completion of personalized training and projects. Supplied Marines with period of instruction
topic, providing guidelines of required materials. If needed, assisted class instructor with
planning, preparing and presentation of topic. Have an understanding and knowledge of training
and education policies, standards procedures as well other non-required training opportunities.
Processed training and education requests regarding non-required courses and schools. Collected,
compiled, researched data and course information. Prepared handouts, presentations and class
syllabi for instructors on various topics ranging from sexual harassment to basic first aid.
Located and explored internal and external sources of education and training. Effectively
communicated with leadership regarding evaluation and updating training and education
program using analytical and evaluative techniques and objectives. Ensured that proper Marine
Corps Institute manuals and books from the Commandant’s Reading List were ordered and
completed by individual Marines within a specific time frame. Generated reports using Microsoft
Word and Excel showing completion, in progress and non-completion of specific training,
individual Marine Corps Institute courses, Commandant’s Reading List.
