This two-part, eight-hour program teaches participants how to use storytelling to improve their leadership and make a powerful impact. In part one, participants will learn how great leaders have used storytelling and will develop their own story to present. In part two, participants will deliver their story and receive feedback on their presentation skills and ability to engage their audience through stories from their work experiences. The facilitator, Jude Cassel Williams, helps organizations and leaders develop by improving their ability to influence others and inspire followership using storytelling.
1. Story-driven Leadership
Bringing Story to Work
More than lectures, PowerPoint presentations and other
didactic teaching methods, the art and practice of
storytelling have the potential to enlighten, persuade,
impart learning and serve as a powerful marketing tool. In
this two-part program of four hours for each, participants
will be introduced to how they can use storytelling to
leverage their leadership influence and make a powerful and
memorable impact with their team, colleagues, stakeholders,
and clients and then develop and deliver a presentation
that incorporates a story with a work related theme
In Part I, participants will examine how the great
storytellers shaped their organizations and provided
continuity. They will learn the key elements for effective
storytelling as preparation for an interim assignment where
they will develop their own stories to be delivered as
presentations in the second segment.
In Part II, participants will deliver their storytelling
presentation and given feedback about their presentation
points, style and ability to hold the attention of their
audience, as well as increase information retention through
stories and their real work/life experiences.
