This document describes an Arduino-based ultrasonic navigation system for blind people. The system uses an ultrasonic sensor to detect obstacles and a buzzer to alert the blind user. When an obstacle is near, the buzzer sound increases in intensity to help the user navigate around the obstacle safely. The system aims to help blind individuals better access and navigate their environment.

2. INTRODUCTION
Blind Navigation by using Arduino is about the
project that helps blind community to get better
access to the environment. The design is
incorporated with Ultrasonic sensor for Obstacle
detection and a buzzer to alert the blind.
Ultrasonic sensors are used to calculate the
distance of the obstacle around the blind person.

6. BUZZER
A buzzer or beeper is a signaling
device, commonly consists of a number
of switches or sensors connected to a
control unit that determines if and
which button was pushed or a preset
time has lapsed, and usually
illuminates a light on the appropriate
button or control panel, and sounds a
warning in the form of a continuous or
intermittent buzzing or beeping sound.

8. FUTURE SCOPE
• Smart blind stick can be used using IR sensors, GPS module to
trace the location of the blind and additional water sensors can
also be used.
• The Braille input device gives the blind person an
uncomplicated method to provide the destination address for
navigation.
• The programmable wheels can be provided that would steer the
stick away from the obstacle and also leading the blind person
towards destination.
• Microcontroller based blind navigation.
• Speakers can be used to better understand the navigation.
• It can be further enhanced using VLSI technology to design the
PCB Unit. This makes the system further more compact.
• The use of RFID tags will transmit the location information

9. CONCLUSION
The implementation of the Arduino based ultrasonic
navigation assists the visually impaired person to his
destination safe and secure. We make use of sensor to
warn the blind person about the obstacle through the
buzzer. The intensity of the buzzer sound increases as the
person nears the obstacle which aid him to move away
from the obstacle.
