Obaigo is a same day, last mile delivery platform that optimizes and uses people who are on the road to deliver items to their final destination, using pick and drop hubs across the country
2. Obaigo
Obaigo is an on-the-way
delivery service that
connects people who have
stuff to send with drivers
already heading that way
3.
4. Problem
For The Sender
Price discrepancies, delays and safety of package
deliveries
Poor customer service
Shortage of package delivery services
For The Driver
Safety
Lack of Information
5. How do you facilitate your deliveries? From office parcel and
equipment’s, to farm products to business purchases to
household items and pets: In most cases we physically look
for the nearest driver to send, whereby the driver sets the
delivery price which is high and has no room for negotiation,
because they have to compensate two or three days of
waiting without a job. Long distance deliveries are either
done by bus companies like Modern Coast, Guardian Angel,
Transline Classic etc or Traditional courier companies like
Fargo courier, DHL and G4S. The traditional courier
companies own all the infrastructure including booking
offices and vehicles that transport the items, thus they have
to wait till they have enough packages to deliver. With this
setup we experience delays from the pickup point to the
final destination because of the next day delivery approach.
The recipient has to go to the office at the final destination
to pick their package (No last mile delivery)
6. Solution

7. Solution
Obaigo is a same day, last mile delivery
platform that optimizes and uses people who
are on the road to deliver items to their final
destination. For example a sender in Kisumu
can use an Obaigo driver headed to Nairobi to
deliver their package on the same day. This
driver has an option of delivering the package
to the final destination or dropping it a hub
center in Nairobi which in turn is delivered by
City runners and drivers. This will happen in all
towns and vice versa.
8. A Bus courier delivery cost/price scenario
I have done some research on the Bus courier business. Their
costing ranges from Ksh. 200(a small envelope) to Ksh. 1000
on a big and heavy item. They deliver at least 1600 small
parcels and 400 medium and big items per day (Nairobi –
Kisumu Route)
Average price Total
1600 200 320,000
400 400
Total
160,000
480,000 Per Day, Per Route
9. Agent Hubs
With Obaigo we will approach local shop owners to
be our agents in all the major towns, where
packages will be dropped to be delivered or picked.
The agent will then link the packages with Obaigo
drivers who will pass that way heading to the final
delivery destinations.
We will start by having at least 8 hub agents
including River Road, Tom Mboya Street, Moi
Avenue, Kenyatta Avenue, Westlands, Parklands,
Upperhill, Ngong Road which will mainly serve office
deliveries.
10. Obaigo Drivers

least 100 drivers who are
ready to join our networks.

motorbike riders
