Testing a game before it is sent out to the public and reporting any bugs and errors to
colleagues.
Contract: This is a full time contract.
Qualifications: Good with English verbal and written. Also programming experience.
Salary: £35,000 annual salary for full time work.
Progression: Next step would be a level designer.
3. JOB ROLE 2 - JOB: GAMES ARTIST
Contract: This is a full time contract.
Qualifications: I quote this "Most Artists in the games industry possess a degree
or HND in an art subject, such as fine art, graphic design or illustration."
Salary: £35.000 - £45.000.
Progression: Lead Artist.
4. JOB ROLE 3 - JOB: LEAD ARTIST
Being responsible for the overall look of a game.
Devising the game’s visual style and directing the production of all visual material throughout the game’s
development.
Managing the art and animation team.
Contract: Full time contract for 12 months.
Qualifications: You will generally need an art education in the form of a a fine arts, graphics or animation
degree to undertake this role. Experience is key; Lead Artists need at least five years’ experience in the
games industry. You will also need to have gained experience in a leadership role.
Salary: £37.000 - £40.000
Progression: N/A
