1. Key achievements in my accounting practice
a) I lead a team of Food & Beverage Controllers in implementing Materials Control
Inventory Management System at Nairobi Serena Hotel in 2006.
b) During my tenure as Food & Beverage Controller and Front Office Controller at
Nairobi Serena Hotel, I managed to put in place controls, procedures and policies that
eliminated shortages in bars, stores, and theft at the front office between the years 2004-
2010
c) As Accounts Receivable Controller at Nairobi Serena Hotel, I developed a new
collection system that reduced outstanding sums due from debtors by 20%.
d) I was among a team of consultants that were involved in the preopening preparation of
budgets, revenue forecast, systems sourcing etc of The Alba Hotel Limited which
successfully opened its doors for customers in July 2013.
e) I lead a team of system experts, staff and the senior management team of The Alba
Hotel Limited in selection, implementation, and training in the following hospitality
systems:- Opera Property management System, Micros POS System, Materials Control
Inventory and Procurement Management System, and Sun Financials System.
f) As chief accountant at the Alba Hotel, I lead my department of 5 staff to be all round
in training to handle each and every section of the finance department which increased
efficiency and timely delivery of reports.
g) As Chief Accountant at Capital Club East Africa, I brought in my expertise in internal
controls that eliminated shortages of stocks in bars and stores.
h) I also implemented procedures that improved timely delivery of accurate financial
reports.
i) I also successfully implemented tendering process for all suppliers of goods and
services that reduced operation cost by 8 million in 9 months.
