• Managed Entravisions largest department with a total of 40
newsroom employees.
• Coordinated the production of three different newscasts and one
morning show.
• Directed all aspects of the news department from on-air talent,
production, technical, graphics, camera crew, and interns.
• Responsible for all assignment editor duties to assign all news stories
for all news casts and manage all morning reporters and photographers.
• Responsible for quality management of all written, audio, and video
content to meet the highest of journalistic standards.
• On-call 24-hours a day for overnight breaking news.
• Launched Fox Rio News and worked with the executive producer to
generate the show template and direction of the 9 pm Fox newscast.
• Worked with the Engineering Department to create the new FOX
station set and all the components of a fully functioning station.

• Conducted editorial morning meetings with news reporters and
photographers to assign the news stories for the day.
• Managed a team of 15 employees which consisted of the morning
show crew as well as morning reporters and photographers.
• Coordinated with the executive producer of our morning show to set
up bands, guests, and directed the technical crew for the Marcos Valdes Show.
• Made daily calls to all public information offices of local police
departments, governmental agencies, school districts, congressional offices, city
halls, etc. to set up new story ideas that affected the viewership of the market.
• Evaluated, prioritized and selectedmedia coverage request press
releases to cover events from a variety of public information offices.
• Coordinated maintenance of all news vehicles including live trucks,
regular trucks and newsroom gear such as cameras, microphones, tripods and
computers.
• Conducted mid-day meetings with the news director, anchors and
producers as well as night crew to determine what stories would be on air for 5 and
10pm news cast. Also coordinated live shots.
• Trained all news interns and incoming assignments editors.
• Made daily calls to corporate news headquarters to update what
stories were making headlines in our Rio Grande Valley Market and made these
available to our Univision Network in Miami.
