2. Kerrang
Kerrang are a online rock magazine (e-
publication) targeting fans who like rock music
and they write in an informal way and I can tell
from the language they use as well as images
and other things for example their cover is
covered in emojis.
It is aimed at fans of rock music because that is
mostly what they report and it is also aimed at
people who prefer an informal text in
comparison to a formal text. This text is
written in the first person and it is to inform
rock fans of upcoming song, bands, music
videos, ect coming through. For example the
article I chose is informing people about Arcane
Roots new music video. Article from: http://www.kerrang.com/47136/arcane-roots-debut-stunning-new-
video/
3. Independent
The Independent are a lot different to Kerrang
in the way they write. Kerrang is written in an
informal compared to the formal style of The
Independent. I can tell again from the writing
that this is a formal text.
It is aimed at music fans as they donât stick to
one particular genre and at people who prefer
to read a formal text over an informal text. This
text is written in first person and it is used to
educate people again on the different things
going on in music. It also highlights over areas
and has stories about them.
