- One bedroom 58 m² apartment
Project: Multi-storey building was constructed in 1972. Apartment bathroom was previously renovated,
otherwise the rest of the unit was in its original state. The project was an owner renovation for re-sale
purposes.
The unit was fully renovated except for the bathroom and kitchen fittings.
I set out to achieve a modern, young and fresh style. My own tastes were
reflected in the outcome. I wanted to have clear lines and highlight the
details with strong colour.
In painting the walls I chose a full-matt white and for a shading effect
a semi-gloss paint. The floor was changed to create a trendy and fresh
appearance with the use of a white laminate.
The next pictures shows before and after situation of the flat.

6. Project: Multi-storey building was constructed in 1972. Apartment bathroom was previously
renovated about 10 years ago, otherwise the rest of the unit was in its original state.
The project was a customer renovation contract.
The unit was fully renovated except for the bathroom and kitchen fittings.
Customer liked a low-key, earthy colour country style.
Nonetheless the unit was to be something eye catching
with the use of colours. The client wished also to have
a chest table and a wall sticker (in English).

7. The clients biggest wish
was to have open kitchen
with an island bench. This
was not able to be
achieved. But we were able
to create a breakfast bar
type shelving along the
kitchen wall. The shelving
was covered with a white
laminate and a silver edging.
Also a kitchen window sill
was replaced to bring about
unity. One of the kitchen
walls was painted with a
low-key grey colour. A long
wall sticker was installed to
freshen this space. A white
dining set and bar stools
along with a large ceiling
light were purchased to
create a mood for the dining
area.
8. For effect the two living
room walls were painted
with contrasting colours.
One of the walls was
papered with structured
wall paper then painted
with golden shade colour
followed by another
contrasting colour. That
was the eye catcher of
the room to which shade
and glowing is easy to
change by lightning.
Colour of the furnitures
were white and dark
brown. For example
paintings and decorative
pillows fits burgundy to
bring more colour into the
living room. The new
furnitures purchases
were a white chest desk,
a mood lamp and a light
coloured sofa.
9. The main colour of the
bedroom was an elegant
violet. The wall paper was
a rich and feminine flower
pattern. The closets got
the new white melamine
doors and the simple,
classic square-shaped
silver crowns. For the
bedroom mats, two black
long hair lamb skins were
purchased.
10. The large white bureau was
placed in the relatively narrow
hall entrance. The walls were
painted with a white full-matt
paint. The wall behind the bureau
was painted a graphic shades of
silver paint, inspired by tree
branches. On the opposite wall
were closets with replacement
new sliding doors. Doors were
from floor to ceiling to create an
undivided feeling from the
narrow entrance hall. Two of
those doors were mirrored and
an additional white melamine
door having a space to be
covered with a wall paper strip.
The client can bring a little bit
colour and variation very easily
to the hall entrance. The
effective stripe matches the
wall paper which was used in the
bedroom.
