3. Location in the world
Is located in South Asia, bordered by India in the north, the Bay of
Bengal in the east and west, while Myanmar surrounds it to the
south.
The total land area is 130,172 Km2
4. Division of the country
The country is divided into eight administrative
divisions, which are further subdivided into
districts or zila.
5. Short history
The first Muslims came to the area around 13th Century seizing
control and establishing independent rule.
During the 15th Century many European merchants began
coming to the region.
In the late 1750's with the defeat of the last Muslim leader of
Bengal, the British imposed political rule over the region as well.
The British would control the area known as West Bengal for
nearly two hundred years. In 1945, the British were strongly
pressured to reduce the size of their empire. In June 1947 the
United Kingdom declared it would grant full dominion status to
two successor states: India and Pakistan. India would become the
Hindu state and Pakistan, the Muslim state.
The independent State of Bangla-desh was quickly announced.
6. Physical features
The 3 major rivers in Bangladesh are the Ganges,
Brahmaputra, and Meghna.They have a lot of floods.
The country is mostly flat except for the hills in the
South-East in Chittagong Hills
The biggest landform is Plain of Bengal

Bangladesh's economy is the second fastest growing
major economy of 2016
Agriculture: Most Bangladeshis earn their living from
agriculture. Although rice and jute are the primary crops,
maize and vegetables are assuming more importance.
Manufacturing and industry: Eastern Bengal was known
for its fine muslin and silk fabric before the British period
Finance:This sector has grown a lot since 1980s
10. CULTURE AND TRADITIONS
Religion : Muslim , Hindu , Buddhist , Christian ,
& Animists and believers in tribal faiths
Eid ul-Fitr :It is the most important festive of
Bangladesh.On Eid day, the Eid prayers are held
all over the country, in open areas like fields.
There are holidays for three days.
Weddings: A traditional wedding is arranged by
Ghotoks who are couple´s friends.

Some of there are:
Kotila Mura (Comila): It´s part of the Mainamati ruins.
Somapura Mahavira (Naogaon):This monastery was built
during the Pala period.This is nominated as UNESCO
World Heritage.
