7. S I M P L I F Y C O M P L E X S U B S C R I P T I O N S
Zone Advanced Billing is built entirely in NetSuite which means you can now manage one customer record, one item
master, and leverage native NetSuite reporting capabilities for Subscription metrics. Once a Subscription plan is
generated all subsequent downstream transactions utilize native NetSuite transaction types (Orders, Invoices, Cash
Sales, Payments, Credit Memos, Refunds, etc.)
Subscriptions are unique to the customer and define overall
activation dates and any Subscription level minimum
commitments. Define preferences for payments, invoice
presentation, and renewals.
CREATE SUBSCRIPTION
Add Subscription Items to create the overall plan. As usage is
brought into the system, rating preferences will generate
charges to be invoiced. Items, charges, and usage are all
visible from the Subscription record.
SUBSCRIPTION 360°
The Subscription is linked to the customer record in NetSuite which
enables you to get a truly holistic picture of your customer relationships
from projects, cases, transactions, collections, and metrics.

Increase bookings by empowering your sales team to creatively price and sell Subscriptions. We do this by allowing
Finance to still automate the downstream billing and revenue recognition for the most complex pricing and usage models.
The Subscription Items leverage native Item Master
functionality from NetSuite but is enhanced to allows users to
configure a rate type and a rate plan (which can be customer
specific). As well as, configuring the frequency of charge and
invoice creation and any item level minimum commitments.
SUBSCRIPTION ITEMS
Define usage rates based on pricing tiers and type (linear,
marginal, fixed rate per tier, rate supplied by usage).
RATE PLANS
Consolidate or extrapolate Subscription Items on the invoice based on any
field in NetSuite or usage data from proprietary platforms (i.e. location,
store, user, item, bundle, etc).

10. CHALLENGES WITH POINT SOLUTIONS
Billing
Point Solution
Financial
System
Duplicate records –
Items, customer,
invoices, payments, etc.
Finance operates in two
systems –
Duplicate security
settings, inefficient,
difficult user adoption
No unified reporting –
Cannot connect subscription
reporting to financial reporting
Scalability is stalled –
You need two platform
experts to make future
workflows or customizations
Double Admins –
Hard to find Admins with
experience in both
systems. Admin must
manage two user sets
Data Integrity –
Sync errors. Wasted
time error checking
Revenue Recognition
Compliance –
Limited Rev Rec functionality.
Trying to use ERP for just Rev
Rec is very difficult to integrate
Future upgrade Issues –
Upgrades to either
platform could break
integration.
Expensive –
Point solutions typically
charged based on revenue
billed. Costs grow
exponentially with revenue.
Doesn’t integrate to
projects –
If PSA is needed, it’s even
more disparate and hard to
report on profitability
No Inventory Mgmt –
Impossible to manage
inventory and warehouse or
shipping integrations
Global tax & localization –
Difficult to manage local
compliance or foreign tax
in two platforms
More contracts to manage –
Need to negotiate and
renew multiple contracts.
Disparate Support –
There is no single point of
contact for integration or
overall process flow
support

13. _05 FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
1) Do you charge based on revenue billed?
No, the bundle is charged as a flat recurring fee. Professional services charges are kept low and typically
relate to data migration or integrations to proprietary platforms.
2) How long does an implementation take?
Depending on integrations being built phase 1, clients can be live in anywhere from 1 – 4 weeks (if NetSuite is already in place).
3) Can subscriptions include negative amounts?
Yes
4) Can you create credit memos?
Yes
5) Can I edit or amend multiple subscription items all at once?
Yes
6) Do you have SaaS metrics reporting?
NetSuite provides OOTB SaaS metrics that can be leveraged with Zone Advanced Billing. Additionally, Zone is building
enhanced dashboards for key SaaS metrics and should be available or pushed to current users in Q2 2018.
7) Can I suspend or extend subscriptions?
Yes. For renewals you have the option to extend the existing subscription or create a new subscription.
8) Can subscription items start on a different date from the subscription start date?
Yes. In some instances the start date can be unknown and activated automatically on certain triggers.
9) Can revenue recognition be % complete or milestone based from projects managed in NetSuite or a 3rd party platform?
Yes. Projects can still be linked to subscription charge orders to utilize native NetSuite project billing or revenue recognition.
10) What are my options for Invoice presentation?
Summarize from any field. Invoice as a single line or extrapolate one subscription item into hundred of lines to delineate custom identifiers.
Additionally, invoices can be consolidated from multiple subscriptions, master contracts, or related customers.
