3. note from a teacher
I want to take a moment to send a big shout out to all the LinkedIn staff and to the many
wonderful people that worked behind the scenes to make this opportunity happen. Our visit to
the LinkedIn office was such a rich learning experience for my AVID students. We appreciated
how warm and welcoming your staff was. Truly, any community is only as strong as its individual
members; it is no wonder that your company has been at the forefront in innovative technology
for social mobility when you have such phenomenal and inspiring people in your offices. Your
family-oriented culture is something that was palpable as soon as we entered the building. A
special thank you to Patrick Ward and Madhumita Mantri for organizing this amazing experience.
Additionally, a big shout out to Pat Wadors, Brandon Wright, Alicia Perez, Orlando White,
Melvin Salazar, and Andrea Carlos for sharing their personal stories as first generation college
students. I hope you know how much your words truly impacted my students. Thank you.

5. Dear LinkedIn Leaders,
Thank you for organizing this trip. It was a pleasant experience for all of us,
and it definitely opened up my eyes. I didn't think that a company like this
would have such a fun and cool environment. During the tour, everyone
seemed like they actually liked their job, they were really into it, and it had
such a comfortable atmosphere. This visit showed me what my future could
be.
Sincerely,
Meleseini Lotoaniu

7. Thank you LinkedIn for providing us an amazing time and overall experience. You provided me a
vision for what type of career I might pursue. Also, thank you for the food. I really enjoyed the
tour because I got to see how much LinkedIn is connected with their workers and social life. Thank
you so much.

I would like to thank you, Patrick and Madhumita, who made this trip possible for our AVID class. I
really enjoyed hearing Pat Wadors talk about her and her story, she was a very inspirational
person, and she made me put myself in her shoes. The career panel was a very important one to
me, it was amazing to hear about their journeys from going to college to working at LinkedIn. I was
very amazed to see a work environment like LinkedIn and I enjoyed how friendly the atmosphere
was and how positive employees were to be at work. I hope to one day be in a friendly
environment such as LinkedIn. Thank you for making time for our MVLA class to tour around.

9. Dear Patrick,
When you said you felt intimidated when you went to Stanford, I completely
understood how that felt because I always feel like that in class. I learned that you
have to persevere and not give up. I need to be myself and follow my passions.
Without this trip, I would not know these important ideas. Thank you!

10. Thank you all for the opportunity to visit your workplace and learn. It really made me think about
my future and my goals. I would love to work somewhere like LinkedIn when I'm older, the
community is like a family which I admire. Thanks for the awesome presentations, I really enjoyed
the presentation by Pat Wadors. It made me realize that I shouldn't get a job that I don't like,
instead I should follow my passion and what I want to do. Thanks again!

FuentesDear Pat Wadors,
I am a student who attended the field trip with Los Altos and Mountain View high school to
LinkedIn. I just wanted to tell you that when you were presenting, I was surprised of how
comfortable you were talking to 90 teenage students but I guess that is possible because you have
children too. The vibe you gave off while talking was really comfortable and calming for the
stressful day I had the day before . When you also discussed you life experiences and how you
wanted to try new things, it opened my eyes of also wanting to try new experiences instead of just
staying in one spot, being miserable. You made me smile that day. Thank you.

12. I would like to thank the organizers of our trip there because it was very
awesome and I learned so much more than I already knew. The fact that Patrick
and Madhumita took time out of their day to teach us more about LinkedIn is
very nice and because of them I was able to learn so much more and gain an
interest in LinkedIn. I would also like to thank Pat Wadors because her
presentation was very interesting and engaging. She taught me that I should be
authentic and that it is OK if I am not set on a career path right now. The panel
was also very enjoyable because I felt like I could relate to them and they also
mentioned that it is OK if I'm not set on anything right now because it will
eventually change into what I want to do.

14. Thank you so much Patrick and Madhumita! I'm so thankful that you let us into
your home at LinkedIn. Thank you Patrick for speaking to us and taking the time
to teach us about what LinkedIn is, I know it was probably intimidating but you
did great and also, Madhumita, you were so sweet. I'd also like to thank Pat
because her story was so amazing and I took a lot from what she said; it was truly
inspirational I was talking to my peers after and we all came to the conclusion that
it was a great talk and we all walked away feeling better and super motivated. The
panel employees were also so touching the suburban dad (I forgot his name) said
so many things I want to quote and hang on a wall so that was great. Thank you!
