The rocker-bogie mechanism allows six-wheeled vehicles to maintain contact between all six wheels and uneven terrain. It was first used in the Mars Pathfinder rover in 1997 and is still used in NASA Mars rovers today. The mechanism uses linked "rocker" arms and bogies attached to wheels that allow independent suspension of each side and differential movement to keep the body level. Advantages include an even load distribution and ability to climb obstacles twice the wheel diameter. Future applications could include transporting materials over rough terrain, bomb disposal, or developing it into wheelchairs or vehicle suspensions.
IRJET- Design and Fabrication of Multi Legged Robot
1. Students designed and fabricated an eight-legged walking robot based on the Klann linkage mechanism to test new walking algorithms.
2. The Klann mechanism converts rotary motion of a crank into linear movement of the leg, simulating an animal's gait. Two linkages are coupled 180 degrees out of phase to allow the robot to walk.
3. An analysis of the robot and leg mechanisms was performed using ANSYS software to evaluate stresses, deformations, and fatigue over time. The results provide data to optimize the robot's design qualities and walking performance.

For their senior rocket project, the students designed a solid rocket propellant that would accelerate the rocket to 100 feet per second without being unstable. They tested over a dozen mixtures using various catalysts and ultimately selected an iron oxide catalyst based on multi-scale testing results. The propellant was packed into tubes, cut into grains after setting, weighed, and paired in motors to keep mass equal for testing, which measured pressure values from a sensor using a DATAQ sampler and custom mounting rigs.

The CBC machine is an important tool for diagnosing various conditions, such as anemia, infection and leukemia. It can also help to monitor a patient's response to treatment.
DEEP LEARNING FOR SMART GRID INTRUSION DETECTION: A HYBRID CNN-LSTM-BASED MODEL
As digital technology becomes more deeply embedded in power systems, protecting the communication
networks of Smart Grids (SG) has emerged as a critical concern. Distributed Network Protocol 3 (DNP3)
represents a multi-tiered application layer protocol extensively utilized in Supervisory Control and Data
Acquisition (SCADA)-based smart grids to facilitate real-time data gathering and control functionalities.
Robust Intrusion Detection Systems (IDS) are necessary for early threat detection and mitigation because
of the interconnection of these networks, which makes them vulnerable to a variety of cyberattacks. To
solve this issue, this paper develops a hybrid Deep Learning (DL) model specifically designed for intrusion
detection in smart grids. The proposed approach is a combination of the Convolutional Neural Network
(CNN) and the Long-Short-Term Memory algorithms (LSTM). We employed a recent intrusion detection
dataset (DNP3), which focuses on unauthorized commands and Denial of Service (DoS) cyberattacks, to
train and test our model. The results of our experiments show that our CNN-LSTM method is much better
at finding smart grid intrusions than other deep learning algorithms used for classification. In addition,
our proposed approach improves accuracy, precision, recall, and F1 score, achieving a high detection
accuracy rate of 99.50%.

How Race, Age and Gender Shape Attitudes Towards Mental Health
Mental health has been in the news quite a bit lately. Dozens of U.S. states are currently suing Meta for contributing to the youth mental health crisis by inserting addictive features into their products, while the U.S. Surgeon General is touring the nation to bring awareness to the growing epidemic of loneliness and isolation. The country has endured periods of low national morale, such as in the 1970s when high inflation and the energy crisis worsened public sentiment following the Vietnam War. The current mood, however, feels different. Gallup recently reported that national mental health is at an all-time low, with few bright spots to lift spirits.
To better understand how Americans are feeling and their attitudes towards mental health in general, ThinkNow conducted a nationally representative quantitative survey of 1,500 respondents and found some interesting differences among ethnic, age and gender groups.
Technology
For example, 52% agree that technology and social media have a negative impact on mental health, but when broken out by race, 61% of Whites felt technology had a negative effect, and only 48% of Hispanics thought it did.
While technology has helped us keep in touch with friends and family in faraway places, it appears to have degraded our ability to connect in person. Staying connected online is a double-edged sword since the same news feed that brings us pictures of the grandkids and fluffy kittens also feeds us news about the wars in Israel and Ukraine, the dysfunction in Washington, the latest mass shooting and the climate crisis.
Hispanics may have a built-in defense against the isolation technology breeds, owing to their large, multigenerational households, strong social support systems, and tendency to use social media to stay connected with relatives abroad.
Age and Gender
When asked how individuals rate their mental health, men rate it higher than women by 11 percentage points, and Baby Boomers rank it highest at 83%, saying it’s good or excellent vs. 57% of Gen Z saying the same.
Gen Z spends the most amount of time on social media, so the notion that social media negatively affects mental health appears to be correlated. Unfortunately, Gen Z is also the generation that’s least comfortable discussing mental health concerns with healthcare professionals. Only 40% of them state they’re comfortable discussing their issues with a professional compared to 60% of Millennials and 65% of Boomers.
Race Affects Attitudes
As seen in previous research conducted by ThinkNow, Asian Americans lag other groups when it comes to awareness of mental health issues. Twenty-four percent of Asian Americans believe that having a mental health issue is a sign of weakness compared to the 16% average for all groups. Asians are also considerably less likely to be aware of mental health services in their communities (42% vs. 55%) and most likely to seek out information on social media (51% vs. 35%).

- 2. My role • I volunteered to go to the competition. • The roles I played were Assembling of the launch tower, and assembling of the rocket engine.

Competition stages • Prior to the competition we had to have a successful full-scale rocket motor test, along with finalized payload and rocket design. • presentation, during the first day we present our rocket, pay load, engine and tower design to judges. • Rocket, Engine, and tower assembly we assembled these systems before launch. • Launch and retrieval, after the ok for rocket safety the rocket is put in the launch tower. • Scoring retrieve data and submit it to judging

Our accomplishments • Our rocket achieved an altitude of 10,700 feet, which is 700 feet off the target altitude. • Our payload was successfully deployed from the rocket. • Being the first team from Eastern Washington University to compete in this competition we were able to take third place in the competition.
