To Whom It May Concern,
RE: John Philip
John joined Rare Indigo™ Inc. as a Program Manager in August 2004. It is very difficult to describe in one page the
contributions and talent of this exceptional individual. It is bitter sweet that John leaves to pursue new endeavours but
we feel so fortunate to have had him for ten years as an integral part of making Rare Indigo the success it is today. Rare
Indigo™ Inc. is a premier Destination Management company that provides high end incentives in Western Canada and
during the time of John’s employment, our company has grown from a start up to ten employees having worked with
primarily international clients, Fortune 100 companies and customers hosting at the 2010 Olympic Games.
I first approached John to join me in the re-launch of Rare Indigo as he was one of the few individuals in this business that
had a reputation for being an organized project manager and a known problem solver. With experience previously as a
Program Manager in both our destination and internationally, there was no question John could be the “make it happen”
half of the operation. Through the years, John was able to not only do the job he was hired for, but he became an
exceptional leader in the company as we hired and trained staff and grew the business. He was always a critical thinker
and able to adapt. As John started to carry more and more of the company by being the “go to guy” for technology, client
management, employee management, vendor management, problem solving, training, even dabbling in sales and
marketing, there is no questions that his fierce dedication, determination and loyalty were instrumental in bringing us to
where we are today.
We were always amazed at the cool demeanour under extreme pressure John was able to maintain. His true talent lies
not in just the ability to do the job but in the ability to think strategically. He would always consider the best time and
place and circumstance for communications and change and ensure that in tough scenarios, he was thinking on behalf of
the client but always maintaining the bottom line for the company. This has led to many “win/wins” over the years. As a
business owner, I made very few decisions without consulting John. He was always the voice of reason and thorough in
his research and reasoning.
John was appointed Vice President in 2009 although he was doing the job far before then. He was responsible for the
entire day to day operations of the company as well as handling some of our largest customers. In 2010, Vancouver
hosted the winter Olympics and John was responsible for ensuring the correct resources were allocated in order to handle
our multiple clients as well as handling the Dutch Olympic sponsorship partners himself.
All in all and without exaggeration, John has been the most integral part of the first decade of this company’s success.
John’s signature is his extreme dedication and loyalty as well as adaptability. We are forever grateful for his dedicated
service and his many contributions, and know he will leave the same mark wherever he lands.
Sincerely,
Vivian Farkas Tsogas
President
