2. Session objectives
To learn how to create reading promotion posters using online
photo editors BeFunky or Fotor
To make your own poster using a photo you have taken

3. The idea
 The idea was borrowed from Georgia Library Media Association’s blog
post ‘READ posters are cool?’

 A fun activity to do with your clubs
 A whole-school competition you could run
 A departmental challenge
 Once you have used these tools, they are really useful for creating other
displays too

4. How to do it…
 Get pupils into a group of three or more.
 Give them a camera (or their phone) and some books.
 They can use anywhere in the school to create a striking image.
 Get them to roughly plan the kind of image that they want…
 Single or group
 What will the person/people in the shot be doing? How will they be arranged?
 Where will the book/s feature? Being read? In front of faces? On their head?
 What sort of mood are they going to achieve? Fun? Serious?
 Off they go! Set them off with their camera.
