There are three main styles of music videos: performance, narrative, and conceptual. Performance videos focus on the artist and use different camera angles to maintain audience interest. Narrative videos tell a story related to the song through a video to engage audiences. Conceptual videos center around a main idea portrayed through effects, which can be expensive to produce.

Performance – Where the videos focus is the artist or band. Different camera angles and
shot types are used for this method to maintain the audience’s interest.

Narrative – This style shows a story throughout the music video which usually has some
relation to the song. A narrative music video is considered to be more engaging to the
audience as the audience has more to look at and take in. Sometimes a narrative music
video helps to tell the story that the lyrics do visually.

Conceptual – This type of music video is centred around a main concept or ideology. The
use of post editing and effects are usually used to help portray the main idea however,
