2. The British board of film the BBFC was originally established by the film industry in 1912. It
is an independent non-government organization that will give any film the right
classification foe example a U film is targeted at any age group 4 years of age and above a U
film does not show any violence or horror scenes in the film.
A PG film (parental guidance) is more or less the same as a U but with some unsuitable
scenes for children the targeted age group for this classification is 8 years and above
A 12A and a 12 is obviously targeted at 12 years of age and above The ‘12A’ category exists
only for cinema films. No one younger than 12 may see a ‘12A’ film in a cinema unless
accompanied by an adult. No-one younger than 15 may see a ‘15’ film in a cinema. No-
one younger than 15 may rent or buy a ‘15rated video work.No-one younger than 18 may
see an ‘18’ film in a cinema. No-one younger than 18 may rent or buy an ‘18’ rated video
work. To be shown only in specially licensed cinemas, or supplied only in licensed sex
shops, and to adults of not less than 18 years this may show content such as sex action and
horror scenes.
Film Classification.
3. For / Against film classification.
Some people will be for film classification for example producers and directors would
obviously like to lower the film classification just so that the company and the business will
earn more money by getting more viewers. For example everyone loves jam4s bond the
famous 007 it was originally classified at a 15 however to get more money and more views it
has been targeted at a age 12 so that it gets more views and of course more money however
most 12 year old like action movies and if films such as star wars is a 12 and is full of action
then why not have another film that is at the same age group tis way they cannot not get in
trouble by the BBFC. Also by letting 12 year old watch it brings the target audience a lot
lower and will have to make the extension of income a lot more fro example how would they
try to target this at 12 year old as it is a lot easier to advertise a product at an age more than
12 for example the new James bond 007 aftershave fragrance and the new omega 007
watches to celebrate the omega 007 watch of the 50th anniversary James bond film.
4. Against film classification.
In many opinions most people would like to see a film that are younger than they should
be to watch a film certificate for example a 16 year old would obviously lie to watch a 18
year old film classification movie for example many people who argue the fact that it is
legal to be a parent at the age of 16 so why are you not allowed to watch a film that has
sexual content involved certificated at 18 when at 16 it is legal to be involved In sexual
content and be a mother or father. Also if the BBFC didn't exist and any film didn't have a
certificated age group on the cover then they will get more views and the producers will
get more money so the public are happy that they can watch a film with violence with
sexual content and drug scenes and also the producers and film companies and actors and
everyone who is involved will get more money a huge difference rather than if it was a
certificated. a film that has is an 18 that has sexual content extreme violence and drug
scenes is the Bank job this film is exciting however is classified at 18 if 16 year olds were to
watch this then the companies will get more money and the extension of income will
increase. Also a film that has extreme violence and that will harm viewers is the Human
Centipede 1 and 2 this was classified at an age of 18.
5. The mother of Clare Bernal, who was murdered by a former boyfriend while working at Harvey
Nichols, has joined the second wave of alleged victims of News of the World phone hacking
suing News International for damages.
Patricia Bernal has lodged a high court claim against the publisher after she was shown notes
kept on her by the private investigator at the centre of the scandal, Glenn Moliere.
The notes were made available under legal disclosure by the Metropolitan police and it is
understood they show that Patricia Bernal's voicemail was hacked into within hours of her
daughter's death in September 2005.
Stories about Clare Bernal appeared in the News of the World and other newspapers shortly
after her death and her mother is understood to have been door stepped by a number of
reporters at the time.
Clare Bernal was murdered by ex-boyfriend Michael Peach, a former Harvey Nichols security
guard, who then shot himself. In 2007 Westminster coroner Dr Paul Knap man said the 22-year-
old was unlawfully killed by Peach.

6. The human centipede 2 was banned from publishing it on cinema screens and televisions
world wide the bbfc made it have cuts due to its violence and age certificated scenes it was
overall aged at a R 18 Which involves extreme sexual content extreme drug scenes extreme
violence and extreme bad language. The bbfc stop this from being published for a reason
because of all of the extreme scenes however after a numerous attempts to convince and
stop the director and the whole organization of the human centipede 2 to get rid of these
extreme scenes they didn't l9sten and carried it out and then it was banned from the
televisions and cinema screens however it was not banned from the internet and this is
where it got its viewers if it wasn’t allowed on the TV then they were allowed to show it on
the internet. for me this was a bad idea for example if it was banned from the television
which everyone watches hen it should not be able to view it on the internet it think that 9r
was a bad idea also because it is illegal to watch any pornography however anyone from the
age 6 to 17 can load the computer and watch It this is the same for the human centipede
anyone no matter what the age can load the computer and watch the human centipede 2
nothing is stopping them. The bbfc are and have a till not done anything about it personally
as it is their duties they should not just leave it they should be doing something about it
they should ask maybe fro any proof of age before watching it or jut stopping all together
and banning the film all together.
