1. To Whom It May Concern,
My name is Jessica Uy, I am second year at University of California San Diego majoring
in Chemical Engineering. I am in search for a position that will further my experience in the
work force and establish a foundation in a field of my interest. I have many qualities that qualify
me for this position, all of which ensure that I will accomplish any task I am assigned.
I have gained a significant amount interpersonal skills through my work in restaurants
and have learned how to communicate efficiently with others in various situations. I believe this
experience will allow me to mesh well with any team I am placed in because I can maintain a
positive attitude and offer sound judgment when needed of me. I have also learned how to avoid
and resolve conflicts through compromise and by keeping an open mind to all suggestions so that
the best actions can be taken.
My ability to assess a situation and its needs allow me to manage my time wisely so that
deadlines can be met with minimum amount of last minute work. This time management skill is
a by-product of my need for organization when taking on tasks so that they run proficiently and
minimize confusion. I believe organization of actions and delegation of tasks is the foundation
for all assignments; therefore will always perform my delegated task efficiently to avoid any
hindrance of the overall goal.
The adeptness to learn new things is extremely necessary when attempting new goals,
and I possess the capabilities to learn quickly and adjust as follows. I have acquired a tendency to
evaluate a problem and its parts before wasting resources to remedy it to assure the highest
quality results. This, along with my other qualities, make me a strong candidate for this position
and showcase my work ethic and its diligence.
Frankly, I am an exceptionally hard working person and will always perform my tasks at
an expected or higher level than asked of me, and eager to learn more about any task I commit
